Side effects of Heroine addiction

I have a son who is a what you call I guess as a functioning addict and he is using Heroine and Suboxone. Recently for the last several months has had a hacking sore throat. He is always clearing his throat or trying. I think he is snorting the stuff. Can anyone tell me what they know about this reaction?

*write back...my mistake...and generally when you're on H you dont really have any pain especially a sore throat its pretty much non-existent. his hacking defintely could be cigarettes, marijuana, or smoking heroin(its called chasing the dragon), snorting really doesnt cause that, ive tried it all and i hack up alot because of smoking weed and cigarettes now and then..best of luck with you and your son..stay strong..if you have any other questions about treament or anything drug related feel free to write to me anytime...i was suboxone treatment, and i am now at a methadone clinic and it saved my life, i am more stable, structured, motivated, and productive with my life.

can you be more specific with waht your son is exactly doing, when i would snort heroin or oxycontin i would sniffle alot seeming like i had a really runny nose but my noseways if you ever noticed were clear. and you would swallow the H that drips down  but the sore throat is not too common. he amy be smoking something..right back im always around
