Side effects of Suboxone

Ive been on a low dose (4mg) of Subnoxone for about 2 1/2 weeks now.  For the most part my body has adjusted to it but I was wondering if anyone else who takes Sub experiences dry mouth throughout the day and does anyone retain water, or urinate frequently?

Thanks for your help!  To answer your question djawne, my plan is to be weened off Sub by the end of March.  There is a big part of me that wants to start weening lower than 4mg right now but I am sorta concerned about relapsing back on the vics.  I dont want to be on this stuff any longer than I half to.

Yup, it's definitley the Sub. I had the same side-effect (among others). I had a weired side-effect that's not listed, but I'm sure that it was from the suboxone. I didn't feel high or anything, but for some strange reason I felt "dumb". I wasn't drowsy, but when asked a question, I was slow to respond and found it extremely hard to put my thoughts into words sometimes. I wasn't taking any other meds or illicit drugs. I have since swapped to methadone, and that symptom has dissapeared. Good luck on your journey!

The only side effect I ever had from Suboxone was headaches. They subsided after about a week. Oh yeah, and the constipation! yuck! The side effects you are experiencing are most likely caused by the Sub, it's different for different people. Have you read the pamphlet that came with the RX?

Yes, sub gave me the cotton mouth feeling.   Also, suboxone is really hard on the bladder so frequent urinating is common.  How long do you plan on staying on sub?

hi ellen...looks like your post got lost in the shuffle...sorry about that.  i have never taken suboxone, so i cant answer your questions, but i wanted to bump this to the top so some of our sub users could respond.  there is a thread in the healthpages to the right that has our sub users experiences.  not sure if you will find the answer there but its worth a shot.  hang in there some one will be along soon that can help you.
