Like desperate said, you can't fix him him and can only care for yourself.  Try not to worry, it's only gonna tear you up.  If he called you before he left, he will probably call again.  Let us know if you hear from him.  Best of luck

Have you checked his house?  Do you know any of his friends?   I suppose the hospital cant give you that info?
