Sleeping Pills and Addiction

Are prescription sleeping pills addicting?  Are OTC sleep aids addicting?  I've been having real difficulty sleeping and thought this would be the best place to get some honest answers.  I am not taking sleeping pills or sleep aids at this time but the lack of sleep is distorting my perceptions.

I agree with Sara, try the Melatonin.  It works wonders for me!!!  Good luck, sweetie!!!  :)

Yes they can be addicting.  Some people use melatonin.  You can find it where they sell vitamins.  That would be the safer route.  Sleep deprivation is no fun.       sara

Sleeping pills can be VERY addictive. Even OTC ones! Just like with many other pills, you can build a tolerence to them. So just be careful. IMO, a sleeping pill addiction is no where near as bad as not sleeping! My good friend just got out of rehab due to a serious sleeping pill addiction. She made it 30 days in rehab, came home, didn't sleep for a week, and is now right back at square one. *****, but you just got to be careful!!!!

well, i think that of course they are.

but if you have a looook at the health pages to  the aminos and thomas posts, you gonna find some other choices...:)
