You might wan't to drop avisg a note she is really good at finding aftercare, You can always google to find what is in your area.
Hi Brad~Yes..Avisg is a great resource! Glad you're up and about and happy to help in anyway;anytime.
thanks- i'll do that. I was feeling good this morning but I have a little fever and the chills are back. Should this still be going on?
Yes,it can. But it gets less and less frequent. Just baby yourself. This is hard stuff.
Get yourself wrapped up and chill. Oh..sorry LOL Relax. Do you have a heating pad?
Yes. I'm fetaling it right now. Drinking some tea (decafe) and just ate some soup. Like you would with the flu.
brad let me see what I can find it will probably take a day they should have other meetings in your area . Let me see what I can find :)
it sounds like maybe you have a touch of the flu or maybe a virus it may not have anything to do with wd
Brad, please don't give up on AA or NA yet. If you find a 12 step program that's honest to the program, then religion should have no bearing on you being able to participate. You may have to go to a few different meetings (I had to go to 10 or so to find the right ones). It says right in the readings in our groups that we don not discriminate because of religion, lack of religion, or sexual preference. People in 12 step programs that do that should be ashamed of themselves.
There are TONS of aa meetings in portland so I am sending you the link then you can plug in where in portland you are looking in
Brad, I'd be surprised if there wasn't gay themed 12 step meetings in Portland. I live in a town a third that size and we have two.
Hey Brad - noted you said you had the chills, etc today. Unfortunately that is totally normal. I detoxed in June of last year and had a heater in my office in the middle of summer. It takes some time, but each day does get better. Just bundle up and have some fun with it. I got to laughing because I would be on the couch with my buddy - he would be in shorts and hot and I would be wrapped in a blanket. This is just your body adjusting and healing.
Also, Ga Guy is right, there are lots of different themed NA groups available for everyone, even in the smaller towns. Portland is wide open.
