Hello my friends I take 120mg of methadone in Lisbon, Portugal, in Europe we are seen as the country that has success in this program, known worldwide spend in this program for the international world but actually delivered to our luck somo ie there monitoring and incentive to go reduzindi is as if they had to do a deal with us. In short I believe we come to something like the addicts who preferred not to have and if so can "fall asleep" the junkie then so be it, what revolts me is like saying that comes when patients do not even have an association like any other disease has . I'm the one who created a blog called Vivercomametadona.blogspot.pt and have spoken the truth but sintimo us that even at the height of marginal use of heroin and cocaine, excuse my English is not my mother tongue

Please start your own thread.  Much better chance of getting more answers, than posting on someone else's.

Hey Jack. Try to move around and get your heart rate up, even a slow walk helps. Swimming was best for me, and saunas gave me a temporary break from the aches. Vitamins, minerals, and amino acid protein shakes help a lot. Glad you reached out, you are not alone. Usually, about 3 weeks off subs is a turning point. More or less. 2mg is a bit high to jump off, but it has been done many times. Sleep is usually a major problem, so just settle into it and start your own post for support. There are usually people responding most any time of day or night. The ER will probably give you hydrocodone, if anything. You can't die from opiate detox, unless you have a heart condition or other major issues, it just feels real bad. You will be okay, just try to relax as much as you can. You'll be so glad when the subs are gone. You can't tell how much they effect you until you are off them. Congratulations on a new life.

I have been on suboxone since the end of april 12 and have jumped 5 days ago at 2mg, today was the worst, I really didn't feel withdrawals until today but it hit me hard.  Having a tough time with my legs I want to shoot them.  Will the ER do anything for me?  My sub doctor wants me on the program for another 1 1/2 but I'm really sick of not being myself.  Any and all suggestions would really help me right now.  I don't know where I got the strength to ask for help but I really need some insight.  How much longer before I actually stop withdrawling?  Thank You friends!

Give yourself a break, you are not the first good person to relapse. I am the master of relapse. Over and over for 2 yrs of trying to quit. So, do you plan on using the 5 strips to do a rapid taper or are you planning on getting more. In Europe, many people use as low as 10mg to get through the acute withdrawal. A friend in Singapore came off heroine with 4mg. I think you can do it, but I agree with the above. Get some aftercare, so you don't have to keep doing this. I did a quick taper of 20 days and don't think I would have made it this far without changing other parts of my life. Working the 12 steps, talking to counselors, and forming new habits are all important for me. I understand having to do it on your own, if that's the case. There are no good sub doctors anywhere near me. I went to the two doctors within 50 miles of me and they both wanted me on subs for 2 yrs. I got my script and used the taper plan I found from a doctor in Florida, and took their advice to get to the root of why I kept ending up back on methadone. Be careful and open-minded. Subs will help you detox, but can't prevent future relapse. Keep us posted on how your induction goes.

I cannot stress enough, that your BEST chance of success with sub is to do it under the direction and guidance of a good clinic.  To do it on your own is not optimal.

There's a lot that goes into calulation the induction dose, most likely you will end up on a much higher dose than you need.  If you're going to buy them off the street, why not just find a good sub clinic and do this the right way?  Your chances of really getting clean will be much better that way.

If you decide to go to a clinic, choose one that is thorough, with required drug screens frequently (every visit preferrably), one who requires therapy, and the discussion of your taper and aftercare, not one that just hands out a script.

Hope you give this some thought.  Honestly, you'll be increasing your chances of success by doing this with the help of a professional.  If you're going to do this on your own, PLEASE resist the urge to take your induction dose too soon.  Wait as long as you can...the worse the w/d's are, the better your chance is that you're ready for the first dose.  If you take it too soon and put yourself into precipitated w/ds, you'll feel like death.  Again, these are all good reasons why it's never a good idea to try to play doctor.

Very best of luck to you!

Hi everyone -

We realize it is not always possible, but suboxone should be taken under the direction of a medical professional, especially when altering doses.

Hi Jewlz dont feel ashamed you are making the right decision now to quit and that is the most important thing. The decision to start drugs affected your life, the decision to quit WILL change your life forever. Dont feel ashamed feel good about your decision, use it to motivate you. This will be the hardest but most important thing you will do in your life. And in time you will see and reap all the benifits of living a life free of drugs I can promise you that. Can you let us know what you were doing, and for how long?    PS Suboxone is great but talk to a doctor as a short taper plan will work best. Staying on these will just prolong the inevitable. YOu WILL do this! God Bless

Great advice above. I would wait as long as you can, minimum 12 hrs. The bright side is, you have to enter withdrawals, but you will be feeling fine within 30 min to an hr after the subs. There's an end to it. I took 1/2 tab and waited 30 min. just to make sure I was okay and took the other half. You don't want to have precipitated withdrawal. If you google COWS scale, you will find a chart of symptoms you should be having before taking the subs.

You need to wait till you are in moderate so mild withdrawal before taking suboxone. I would say wait ATLEAST 12 hours because if you take the suboxone to soon it will throw you into precipitated withdrawal and precips are 10x worse than normal withdrawal I'm sure you will want to take it before 12 hours but I would STRONGLY suggest really waiting at the very least 12 hours and you should be fine but at 12 hours if you feel kinda ok wait a little longer and just make sure you are withdrawaling. I have alot of experience with suboxone and I know you will really want to take t in prob 4-8 hours just like I used to because it always seemed like when I took the last pain pill I had I would be worried to death and think I was withdrawaling way sooner than normal but that's just your mind playing tricks on you. Once again you really need to wait because if you go into precips you will be n the phone looking for meds because precips are so bad it makes just normal withdrawal symptoms seem like a walk in the park

Good Luck and Godspeed

Hi i am on the suboxone program right now and its best to wait until u are going thru wd until u take it if u dont u may end up going into full blown wd bc the sub is trying to get rid of the opiates once it does u will feel better. May i ask if u are wanting to quit or just take it until u get more? Is the suboxone urs?
