Staying Pill Sober

This is my day 4 with no hydrocodone.  I am still trying to kick adderall and Lorazepam, because I cannot sleep.  For you who have been past all of this?  How do you stay sober and drop the pills for good??!!

Yea those first 5-7 days are hell but with some Benadryl, you should be able to get some sleep after that.

Thanks!  I use the Loraz b/c I have anxiety so bad at night I can't sleep.  But the anxiety prob comes some from the add.  The pain pills are my fav/wosrt addiction, so that is why I am trying to cut those first.  I have been able to go a few days before- which *****, but I still really want one.

How to stay off pills?  I think everyone will have a different answer for this.

I had a super scare and was left with no choice.  Although I tried quitting several times before, it would only last about 5 or 6 days.

You have to really WANT to.  You have to want a new life so badly.

I'm not sure if you should detox from all 3 meds at one time.  I detoxed from 20 hydros a day c/t.  I had never used adderall before, but my ex hubby gave me 3 to help keep me focused through begining stages of w/d and I have to say it worked well.

I think you should ask a medical professional how to detox from all 3.  There are plenty of nurses here.

Is the lorazapam for sleep?  I've been an insominac for 19 years.  I'll stay awake for 3 days straight with out something to help.  Maybe you should keep those.

Stick around, or start a new post, ATTN:  NURSES!

Thank you for responding. :-)  It's especially hard under stress, I know no one has all the answers, but it helps so much to know you are not alone.

I'm sorry no one has come along to answer you.  Be patient, someone will.  I can only offer you my limited expertise.  Staying off pills is a struggle but so many here have been in your position and have substantial clean time.  You're desire to stay clean has to be stronger than your desire to take a pill.  If you don't have it right now, that's ok.  Just hang in there and do the best you can, it'll come.

Take it slow, gather advice from this forum--the people who will help you are fantastic.  Keep posting with any questions, concerns, gripes, etc. whenever you need to and someone will always be along to help.

I wish you the best.
