Stll shaking after day six.

I've been on vicodin for four months due to a severe spinal infection.   I was taking between six and eight 5/500 per day.  Also, I have fibromyalgia and took 1-2 tablets for about five years.  I decided to go cold turkey and I am into my sixth day,.   My question is .......I still get he trembles especially in the morning.   I would appreciate any help.  This is a great forum.

Thank you,
Seagull

Seagull, I really believe that you can do this. You have already made it 6 days and that is a major feat. Just ride it out a few more days and I believe you will notice a lot more improvement. Posting here really helped me. There are a lot of caring, knowledgeable people who are willing to help.

Best of luck,

Minn :)

Hi seagull,

Wow, congratulations on day 6! I think you are about to be over the worst soon. Six days is a major accomplishment. Have you checked out the Thomas recipe on this site? There are a lot of vitamins and supplements listed that will help your symptoms. Immodium if you are having tummy troubles. Gatorade for hydration and to replenish what comes out ;) A good multivitamin and B Complex. A magnesium and zinc supplement. Potassium, either a supplement or bananas help with restless legs/limbs. Personally I think you have come a long way to revert back to the meds. You also may want to check with your doctor to see if there is anything he or she can prescribe or recommend to help with the trembling.

Good luck and keep posting! I believe you can do this!

You may not want to go cold turkey you have been taking these pain meds for a while you may suffer panic attacks, convulsions, and breathing problems plus the shakes. Your mind and body need time to adjust to not being medicated so a taper plan would be best.  Drink plenty of fluids and this will help you system to re adjust.
