Stomach Pains

Going through perc withdrawal, now at the 63rd hour into it and no matter what I do or take I still have really bad stomach pains, just wondering if this is normal and if anyone can recommend anything to help with the stomach pain, have already tried lots of pepto and rolaids. I also still have not slept, please let me know how long it usually takes to be able to sleep again.

Thanks

good luck to u...during detox the nausea was hardest for me...i now find out i have reflux...so caffeine. nicotine, mints especially opeppermint are sposedly out as they all irritate ur stomach..probiotics do help as they increase the good bacteria in ur digestive system...even a med from walmart...they make sumpin for nasea..cheap...if u have heartbrun the u need sumpin to treat that perhaps for a few days..if it is the runs that r tearing u up//imodium does the trick...ie...time will heal...make urself as comfy as u can....my wd.physically/lasted 3-4 days...i was at 100 mgs of hydro for 4 yrs....not as much as some but significant..the thomas recipe, exercise.and mega-meetings helped me make it...good luck and hang tight

I just love posts like sway1 ;o)  No more drugs!  Besides her suggestions, a heating pad may help, when filling the tub is just too much work or even better, a hot water bottle, because of a little pressure from the weight and a good quality organic yogurt with major probiotics to coat your stomach, give you nutrition and help get your digestive system functioning again -- from a health food store (not cheap, full of sugar, supermarket kind of stuff) and while you're there, a high probiotic supplement to mix with apple juice or some other non acidic fruit juice.

I have been having the same stomach problems and Nexium works really well for me. I take it on a empty stomach every morning and my stomach problems went away.

Yes, stomach pain is a typical withdrawal symptom.  It can get severe with some people.  I had this as well, and I found that Phenegran helped alot.  It is a prescription anti-nausea med.  It also makes you feel very sleepy, which is great for insomnia caused by withdrawal.   Use Immodium for the runs.  Hopefully, you will be through the worst of it in another few days.  Hang in there.

if you can handle the flavor, some ginger root or some peppermint in some decaf tea may help. the hot baths helped my tummy as long as i filled the tub high enough. some valerian root( you can buy capsules at the drug store) or some melatonin may help with the sleep. the hot baths and/or showers help the most(imo). sometimes i would have to take more than 10 baths in one night, but i would get 20-30 minutes of sleep from it. that is the natural method. the thomas recipe is great, but you will have to get some valium or something similar from your doctor. sleep is the best medicine for me when doing withdrawal. i have to go through it on a semiregular basis due to medical problems. no matter what, it *****, but is totally doable. i wish you the best of luck. peace, sway

If the Pepto + Rolaids (best cheap antacid, but pretty fast "rebound" -- eat 4 or six a go -- try Maalox or Dioval (chalky liquids that coat your stomach real good); a few swigs works wonders.

If you don't get relief, you might need a stomach/duodenum X-ray -- ever had ulcers?

Good luck.

Always remember: Urinate when you feel like it, but use the washroom.

The mental isn't as bad for me, just depressed. I don't want any more pills, I just wish the stomach pain wasn't as bad and I'd be able to deal alot better. I've basically been hiding from all my family and friends because I didn't want them to see what I look like from taking them. When I get up from sitting down I start to get dizzy and lightheaded because I haven't slept.

It is great. I was taking 30 lorcets 10/650 a day. So the sub has saved my life! You need to look into some sort of aftercare when the physical w/d subside because the mental part is just as bad if not worse.

I have been on them for over 2 years about 7 to 12 perc 10s a day and when I didn't have them I'd take roxy 15s. How is the suboxone working?

Depends on your dose, but usually about a week or so for the physical w/d. You are probably at the worst and it will be just as bad for another day or so then it will gradually get better...so I've heard. I never made  it past day 4!!! I finally started on suboxone. Check out the Thomas Recipe on the bottom right side of this page. I have never tried it but  I have heard good things about it. HAng in there and keep posting.

Thank you for the advice, I feel like like I am at the beginning of a very long battle with this, does it usually take much longer to start feeling better?

You may want to call your dr in the morning and get something for your stomach and something to sleep. When I tried c/t from hydrocodone my dr gave me Lyrica, Ambien and  prescription strength stomach meds....dont remember the name of it but it worked really well. Similar to phenegran but not as strong. In the meantime you may want to try immodium and tylenol pm or benadryl. Hot baths would help me relax so I could get a few hours sleep. then as soon as I woke up I would take another one so I could go back to sleep.
