Hi and glad you posted!! So I can tell you that yes you are right , that Trams are no fun to come off of! I was taking about 500-750mg a day and I jumped C/T and that was the worst mistake I ever made!! Although the amount your taking is a realtively small dose, I definitely wouldf recommend you try to do a slow taper. Ideally if you can jump off at 50mg a day would be best! Trams have an antidepressant in them so that is why you risk seizures. Plus the loswer the dose you are on, the less severe the w/d's will be. Im not going to lie, Tramadol is a hard drug to kick because of having the synthetic opiate AND ssri (antidepressant) but many have done it, and you can to!! We are here for you and will offer support and help in any way we can! Just stay close to this forum, because there are alot of great people here!!

Welcome to the forum!  Your usage is not considered A LOT, but you still may want to wean down to make it safer and less uncomfortable.

There are many tramdol "warriors" as they call themselves that have started a thread of their own by using a journal.  They are on Part 55 now and could be really helpful to you.  Here's the link:

I took Trams for back pain at one point in my pain journey, and the med guide said 50 mg 4x/day (max 200 mg).  That's probably why your dr doesn't think you are on a high dose.  Nonetheless, many drs don't even advise their patients that it IS addictive.  Hope you'll find a way that works for you.  Because it is a synthetic opiate AND an antidepressant, it has the possible w/d effect of a seizure.  Doesn't mean it will happen to you, and your daily dose is "considered" low, but if you want to get off them completely, you may want to wean yourself.  The tram warriors are a great bunch and they all have fabulous support and experience.
Blessings to  you~

Hi Dekko, I'm new here and am currently coming off oxycodone but have done 2 Tramadol withdrawls. Coming off Tramadol is really hard. I don't want to freek you out or discourage you but it's hard. The 1st time  I came off at home, I had to cut back over a peroid of a month. After my last dose the withdrawls continued. The worst was insomnia, inability to eat and restless leg. Tramadol screws with your mind a lot. I relapsed and the last time I cam off I had to go to a Hospital in California. I couldn't put my family through it again.  There is a Dr. though that helped me a lot. He runs a detox out of Arizona and will help with all your questions at home. It was a life saver I found him when I detoxed of Methadone. He can tell you everything you need to take to start to heal. I still have his e-mail if you're interested. Best of luck, please don't even think about cold turkey it can cause seizures.
