Sub Withdrawal

I was addicted to oxycodone/oxycontin/fentanyl for about a year before I decided that I was totally out of control and needed to stop. I hold a very demanding job that requires weekly traveling and the thought of taking the time for inpatient rehab was just not acceptable. I heard of Suboxone and decided to take that route. I took 16mg 2xday for about 8 months. I didn't like the way it made me feel, although I no longer craved opiods.
I informed my doctor that I wanted to stop taking this drug and that I felt strong enough to not relapse. I am a recovering alcoholic also - I have not had a drink in over 2 1/2 years.  I weaned the Sub by a 1/2 tablet over the course of 4 weeks. Last Friday was my last dose and by Saturday night, the trashing started. I could not sit still, can't sleep and cannot stand the contant pain in my arms and shoulders.  I am taking motrin 800, soma 350 and have a few xanax that I try to save for bedtime. The hot showers feel wonderful for as long as you are in there and for about 10 minutes after.
HOW LONG DOES THIS LAST? I feel like hell and my only thought keeps saying, take a oxy or something stronger to get rid of the pain - or start the sub again. What can I try that has helped all the others out there that have conquered this?

I was taking two 8mg tablets daily.
I was given a choice by my doctor to taper by a 1/2 pill monthly or weekly and I chose weekly. I wasn't informed about the intensity of the symptoms. When I was down to 1/2 pill daily, I was feeling fine, just had some shakes and a little gi upset. I thought I was in the clear.  The last dose was on Friday morning and Saturday night the terror began.  I did read the info on the health pages and quickly went to the local drug store for some of the mentioned items there.  I am feeling a little better this day and tomorrow will be better. I just keep telling my self that and I'll get thru it.
Thanks for the fedback...

are you saying you got off sub at 16 mgs???  you said yu were taking 2 16 mg pills per day right?  your dr should have tapered you down to just a crumb every other day then every third day...sub is a long acting partial opiate that is very hard and long to w/d from...so, let me know what mg you stopped at.  i have never taken sub, but many here have maybe they can help you...in the meantime look in the health pages on the right of this page and you will find some info...good luck and let me know if i can help ya.
