What kind of pill did hiu take?
No I have not talked to his mom. He did say I could call her to confirm this story, I guess maybe I should start there. I never wanted to doubt him, but I have my suspicions. I here people say that suboxone doesn't get u high but he could barely talk that night and was acting weird I guess to me. I mean what would it do if you're craving pills why not just not take anything? I mean he has been clean for almost 2 yrs off pills?
I am actually talking about my boyfriend. He said he has a prescription from a couple years ago that his mom is holding on to for him. I was unaware of this until a few days ago. He was acting a little strange and I noticed his pupils were pindots and so I asked him if he had taken any pills. He waited a few before coming up with this story that he had been craving pills some he had gotten a suboxone from his mom the other day and took a half of one? It sounds really fishy to me. If anyone has any suggestions for me please let me know.
IBKleen could not have said it better, Sub. is designed for use WITH doctors care AND counseling. I don't believe that it would have helped me one bit without counseling. I had a lot going on inside that I hadn't dealt with. Sub will curb your cravings and let you live normally WHILE you deal with whatever issues you have. The reasons behind WHY you were using in the first place. I am thankful that I had a doctor who was educated enough about how/why/when to use Sub. and what to do along with it for it to be effective. :) I'm proof! 365 days today! Hope you're able to get past the cravings without any more Sub., it isn't any good without the other tools to go along with it. Best wishes!
I want to let you know, you are not alone...very similar story with me also. Although, Ive only been married for 13 years. I actually did separate from my wife becuz of it all. The hardest thing to do in life is to let something go that you love. Its even worse to feel 2nd best to a drug. She seems very crafty, start documenting everything...conversations, dates of occurrences, money spent, etc...to protect yourself. I'm not saying quit on her, I understand your need to "save her". I understand the suboxone treatments and outpatient treatment. Usually, treatment also has a counselor that she talks to. The problem is that when you are trying to stop her from using drugs...you become the enemy. Her brain has been rewired that it sees opiods as important as air and water. In her mind, she NEEDS the opoids. If shes taking suboxone, she has a high tolerance...I hope to god that she isnt using heroin.
Suboxone is not designed for cravings and taking every now and again. It is a program that should be followed under a doctor's care and best done along with counseling.
Have you joined any sort of support group since putting down the drugs? If not, please consider it. You are playing with fire by popping a sub for cravings and doing it on your own.
