Suboxone

I am interested in detoxing with Suboxone. Can anyone tell me how much money I will need to do this? I have been taking way to much for a short period of time but I know my W/W will be the worst I've ever felt before. I finished 400 Tramadol in about 30 days and have 200 left. Now they just make me feel normal. Sick also. There is no high left or me. I just want out of this ****. Thanks for your help.

like caligirl888, i just started on sub..... yesterday....after being addicted to vicodin, norcos, and tramadol for about 2-3 yrs, also...(well not AFTER, i am still and addict) and let me tell u, i feel better than i have in years.I finally feel like i found somewhat of a way out, even tho its still early for me, i know i have a long way to go..but i have a new hope inside...and im set as stone on getting healthy. The dr. gave me 2-8mg pills to start with, he told me to break them in half and take 4mg in the beginning of the day, and another 4mg toward the end of the day. I started 4mg yesterday after my app., so i could go to work...and i actually could make it thru my day w/o wanting to call someone for 9 vicodin for me to pop.I didnt even have to take another sub, i felt fine. And i still do as of this morning...when usually i would alreay have chills, sweating, diarrhea, and body aches. The doc. gave me a script for 60, told me 30 were around 168.00...and i have NO insurance...but when i thought about it..i figured wow..thats about how much i was paying for my vicodin...9 pills at a time, at 4 dollars each..i would eat $36 at one time...and that adds up for doing it pretty much everyday. So the sub. is well worth it. He told me 90% of his PT's recover using sub, its a miracle drug. U should go for it if no other methods work for u(i tried CT many times but could not do it)GOOD LUCK!

Fortunantely I have gone cold turkey more times that I can count. It was off of small doses though. I think the longest run I went c/t from was 6 months at 12-16 a day. Then it was 3 days and I was better. Still felt a little bad but not that bad of chills.  You C/T at 30-35 a day WoW... I'm in for some **** right? It sukcs my wife does not know about this and I know deep in my heart if I try to taper I'm just wasting my time. It will be hell no matter what the W/D from this **** is worse that when I withdrawled from Hydrocodone in 2000. I guess I'm just looking to try and taper with the rest I have left but I'm not getting any more. My luck it will be a C/T and I'll end up having to tell my wofe again. Pray for me guys that everything goes well and she doesnt divorce me. I've made some really bad financial decisions I have to tell her about also she does not know about. It's like I've dug a big hole for myself and I guess were fixing to see how much she really loves me. I'm glad you guys are here. I have somewhat of a comfort knowing you guys are backing me up and have been there before. I'll let you know when the horrible time is going to be. Thanks again everyone !! I really mean it from the bottom of my heart !! GOD BLESS

Michael

I can tell you for a fact that they can tell you that Tramadol is not addictive.  I was just told that this very day by my doc - who's suggestion was to just take the recommended dose.  Yeah, right.  I don't know anything about quiting Tramadol with sub or any other taper, I had to quit CT.  I was taking about 30-35 50mg tabs per day - basically at least 1500mg per day.  I will have been trammie free for exactly 8 full days as of 11:59pm and 59 seconds tonight and headed in to day 9.

I took it to combat severe arthritis and fibromyalgia pain.  I don't suffer from cravings but every single ounce of pain I had masked is back.  I really truly realize now how powerful a drug it is as the original underlying pain gets stronger as my body sloughs off the last of the Tramadol in my body.

Based solely on my own experience (and don't have any other's with similar scenarios to compare it to), the biggest concern is being prepared for the return of the pain you were masking.  Oh yeah, and don't forget lots of kleenex, I sneezed my ever living brains out for the first 7 days straight.

Good luck, I'm rooting for you -- you CAN do it if you so choose!

isn't it silly how we feel guilty about spending the money but didn't bat an eye on spending money on drugs?

I began Suboxone today and it is a true Blessing... I encourage you to give it a try.. A bit pricey but its soooooo worth it... I was addicited to Vics, Norco and Tramadol, and the Suboxne dr. said he would pretty much work w/ anybody using opiates.... I paid $150 for consult, and 150.oo for a script of 30 Suboxones....8 Mg.... I didn't want to spend the money but I know deep down that If I do then I'am more likely to kick the habit and Live a better life:) Best of Luck please let me know your final out come...

I don't doubt for a second the addictive properties of tramadol. It acts just like an opiate to me if taken in doses large enough. I know lots of people who've been addicted to it, but never heard of anyone who have done sub to get off it. the medical community is just now seeing that it's addictive..I just don't know if tramadol meets the subxone opiate requirement. I do know that they do a drug test at intake..and, that tramadol does not show up as an opiate...they have to specifically test for it.

Unfortunately I was unable to find any info on treating tramadol addiction with sub.  I saw a bunch of studies comparing the treatment of addiction WITH tramadol vs. sub.  I didn't look at the results but I didn't realize it was even an option.  Anyway, as for the price.  There may be a way to get the meds for free (see my profile for the link).  Typical dr's fees around here (Western Washington State) is $300 for the initial consultation appt then $100 for each monthly visit after that.  Plus your meds of course which you get from a pharmacy.  They are not cheap.  The amount lurker posted looks about right.  I have insurance and it costs about $30-40 for a month supply.

Buying the tramadol in Juarez, MX and paying $28.00 for a bottle of 100 50mg. I wonder if I could get the suboxone in mexico also. Are there other names for this drug?

I can respond somewhat.  My MD is covered by my insurance as is the drug.  however, I looked at the receipt from the pharmacy - I paid $40.  The cost if I didn't have insurance for 84 8mg Suboxone pills would have been $492.00 - that's supposed to be a month's worth but I'm not taking the full three per day so it will probably last longer.  I know that some docs charge a lot and some are very reasonable.  You have to go to suboxone.com, find the providers in your area and call to see what the physician costs would be.  But, the drug is expensive.  Don't know who much you're paying for the tramadol but it's not cheap either.

You know..this is something I've been wondering that relates to your post. Will a doctor even do sub therapy for tramadol addiction? Anyone done sub for tramadol? Anyone know the answer to this one?
