I AGREE!!! I am also an addict, so I know how "we can lie" when it suites us.. It made absolutley no sense why any doctor with a brain would perscribe both. It seems that they would pick one or the other an not perscibe Subutex as a prevention so that you wont become addicted to pain medication. Usually when a doctor knows you have a history of abuse they are very reluctant to perscribe any Narcotics even when your in for real pain!! She also told me she went to the Subutex doctor today at 6 and its a Sunday. Are those types of doctors even open on Sundays? Even the Mall closed on Sunday at 5. Why would a doctor be in the office that late on today of all days..She knows that I cant take any chances with possibility of relapse and that I would end our friendship if I thought she was going back to her old ways so its a possibility that she is telling lies to remain friends. I welcome any input to the question I posted. She is having surgery on her ankle by the way, so why would a doctor perscribe her 1 subutex a day plus five 30mg Oxycodone for three months just for a surgery on an ankle. My Dad was dying of Brain cancer and he didnt get anywhere that much. Any suggestions on how to confront her that I think shes being dishonest would be most welcome...THANK YOU
its the first time i have heard of it ,but its subutex. I have heard of them using it for pain mangement but i dont know why they would give her that with another drug along with it but I am not a doctor .. I dont know why one would lie about it but then people lie about all sorts of things so you never know.
Subutex and Suboxone are different. Subutex is often given in the hospital as a pre and post op med. It's mostly used with anesthesia. I doubt your friend knows this though and I also think she's blowing smoke!
The thing is,both subutex and suboxone are addicting.
Hi,
That is one of the strangest things I have heard in a while. One cancels out the other so there is no way she is being prescribed these two meds. I don't know why she feels the need to lie about this but something else is going on.
