Subuxone and Painkillers

I have a question if you are on Subuxone and hurt your self where you need to take pain meds how could you.  Doesn't the sub block other opiates from working.  So if you were in an accident and hurt really bad could you take pain meds for releif or would they not work.  And if you could take them and they worked then I guess you could not take the subuxone for a while cause would that make you go into a full withdrawl again?  If anyone has ever had to do this or just tried please tell me if it worked or not and if you could still take the subs or how long to wait until u start the subs again

I would recommend calling your Sub doctor.  Maybe they could raise the Sub dose for a little while.  Not sure if this would work, but worth a try. I have heard that it is used for pain management also.  I know it helps my pain.

I took subs for a while.... even if you take oxy with the subs it wont get you high or even work.  Subs make your brain not recognize the opium.

I was on sub's for 3 months and still abused oxy while taking them. I would not recommend taking them both in the same day. First, consult your psychiatrist or primary physician. Then if the pain is persistent, in my opinion, please only take the prescribed dose of the painkiller. This is a dangerous road that you may be heading down and only  a medical proffessional's advice will help you make the right decision for your physical, mental and emotional well-being.

My wife has been on subs for about 4 months now and she is down to 12mg a day.  She used to take oxy 80's 5 times day which is alot.   She was in a car accident yesterday due to the snow storm here in CO and she broke her leg and is all cut up from broken glass.  I feel bad for her cause she is in so much pain and she is not sure if she can take the perc's the ER gave her.  She wont bebale to abuse them since I have them and will be monitoring them for her.  Just not sure if they will work or I would hate to see her go into withdrawls due to being on Subs.  Any advise would be appriciated.  I think that to get the perc's to work it has to be enough perc's to push the sub's off of the receptors

Suboxone will block the pain meds, let's say.  So, why do you ask?
