No ! No! No! not meaning to call you old. I just wasn't sure if you guys were into modern-day rock or not. Thats cool if you are, cool if your aren't!
My favorite music is by far Classic Rock. For a twenty year old I think I could say I listen and know a bit about it.
But I guess I really just like all music, especially talented and meaningful music!
You will just DIE when you are in your 40's and people call you OLD! I am ON IT!
in any way you can get music into your life...MUSIC HELPS when your feeling sick and down...it gives you hope and a peek to whats on the other side after addiction...
OH...i am definatly addicted to Three days grace...like i said...nothing short of awesome!!! i have been through 2 CD's now...LOL!
Forgot to mention Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are great to listen to also, they don't have to do with addiction necessarily (except his last dance with Mary Jane ; )
I just think his music is peaceful music to listen to...period
Yeah Save me definitely is about addiction. Actually its about how he's addicted to "chasing the dragon" where heroin addicts put heroin on a spoon, heat it up, then inhale the fumes, hence " I gotta candle..I got a spoon" . He then loses all his money so he states " I live in a hallway with no doors, and no rooms". Then gets addicted to Methadone after trying to quit heroin and sings "Someone save me from these pills".
I like Three Days Grace because One-x (Their latest album) was inspired and written about his addictions. " Animal I have become" , especially the video shows his addiction. But every other song is about his addiction as well. I encourage everyone to listen/watch this via youtube.com
Wow awesome songs with a very powerful message. I love music and this is definately talking to me. It seems my whole life was surrounded by the almighty pain pills started with hubby's chronic pain I had no idea what he was going through OH dear God I do now. thanks for this
do you like shine down? if so...listen to their remake of "simple man" originally done by lynyrd skynyrd......also try the live versions...the guy CAN SING!!! check out the others i mentioned...if you like save me...i am confident you'll like the others...they are all extremely helpful when trying to stay away from drugs, even though they are about the pain of addiction...somehow they are all helpful to me....
also "broken" by seether featuring Amy Lee of evenessance..."bring me to life" evenessance (sp?)... i am sure they all pertain to addiction, but i am not 100% positive of this, you'll enjoy, i am confident...
I agree Save Me hits home pretty hard. I have listened to that song so many times I wore out the cd.
Three days grace is nothing short of AWESOME!!!!! they have helped me also...along with seether, and shinedown...check out "save me" by shinedown....or "fine again" by seether....the lyrics are what you HAVE to hear...

Nice, I knew there were some people in their 40's but just didn't want people to think "Oh this teenager is just listening to brainwashing rock)
