Hi smiley,

You can learn a lot about tramadol and the withdrawal by checking out the "tramadol & ultram" thread on this website - you'll find it by going to the "recent activity" section up on the right side of this screen - it will bring you directly to the most recent page of this thread.  It was a lifesaver for me and I think it could be for you too.

Good luck to you !  It's very possible to get off of this drug so I wish you the best.  :) p.s. and everyone's right - get your Dr. on board with getting off the med.  that's a great place to start.

Smiley--  You are NOW at a very high risk for seizure!  This is very serious...

There is not a daily drug you can take that will cover you which is not an opiate. You simply have to taper down and fast!!

Some have quit this cold turkey but it's a bear. I'd advise you to get with a doctor immediately who can give you a taper plan and support. This is nothing to fool around with now. You're really at risk!

Hi!  Next month I will be clean from tramadol for one year.  There is good news and bad news.  The good news is that you can do it too.  The bad news?  No magic pill!  That is what got you in this mess, so try not to look for an easy way out of it, because there is not one.  If you stop, you will feel bad for about a week after your last pill.  They do need to be tapered, and you are on such a high dose that you will need medical supervision.  At least talk to a doctor and be honest so that your life is not at risk when you stop.  Ok?  PLEASE talk to a doctor.  That is the most important thing.  They will be able to help you decide how to best stop them.

I promise you that you can get through this!  It just takes patience.  There are symptoms that will go on past a week, but the worst is over in about 7 days.

You can do it.  Make your mind up, talk to a doctor and go for it!!! : )

There is hope, and there is help. First off though, you need to know that you should not just quit tramadol cold turkey. It is a dangerous medication to just quit, including seizures coming from withdrawal. There are people who will come and post, and they will have the medical advice you need. Thank you for posting and this site has some amazing people who will invest their time into supporting you in getting clean.

If you don't get answers right away, please stick around because sometimes it just takes a little while, if I see your post get buried, I will bump it back up so you won't have to repost.
