Taking fentanyl patch off tonight

I'm taking off my patch tonight in hopes to get some sleep before the w/d kick in. My doctor said to wait 24 hours after its off to start subs. But someone so nicely sent me a cows chart so I'm going to go by that also. Is there anything I can take or do to help the w/d until I can take a sub? I know I can't take benzos cuz the doctor said those with subs will kill you :(
Also he is starting me on 4mg 3 times a day. I am currently on fentanyl 50mcg every 48 hours and percocets 7.5 mg. 2-3 times a day. My goal is to find the lowest dose possible to treat my w/d symptoms and from there start tapering down. My doctor wanted to do it every 2 weeks until 6 months. But I don't want to be on subs that long if I can avoid. I'm really scared but I hope I can stay strong.
Another thing that I found research for anyone trying to taper the fentanyl patches. A doctor told someone to only take the plastic covering off half of the patch when you put it on and it will reduce how fast you get the medication making it easier to bump the patch down. You will have to use tape to tape it on. I have never tried it but thought I would pass it along in case someone wanted to try it.

What dose of subs are you on? How long have you been on subs?

Hi. The good thing is when u start having wds u can take the subs so u really won't have to suffer too much. The last time I used heroin was 24 hours before I took my subs and I was fine. My suboxone Dr said u only need to wait 24 hours from ur last opiate to start them. Now everyone is different but I'd say if u are feeling pretty *****y its safe to say u can take the subs. I also went by the cows chart and as soon as I started having cold sweats I took them and within 15 minutes I felt great. Good luck to u. I have the feeling u are going to b fine with the transition .
