Too much vicodin?

Question

I am taking 2 500 mg tablets of Hydrocodone at least every Friday for aches and pains not necessarily in my knee for which it is prescribed. Do you think I am in danger of being addicted to hydrocodone?

Do you only have pain on Fridays??  Just don't take more than the doctor prescribed!

if i take one 500 mg of vicodin a day is that addictive? I had disc surgery 5 months ago and am a hairdresser and need it for the muscle and neck soreness...?

At this point I would say no, but I am a bit concerned that you only take it on Fridays? Why on Fridays? See I am not saying this is you, but this is how I got addicted. It started out on well Fridays/Sat/Sun the weekend basically I would take a couple pills to "relax". For a long time I was able to keep it like this and then some where along the way it became well I feel good on the weekend so why not feel good on Monday..then Tues... and so on and on. before I knew it I was taking pills everyday all day and HAD to take em or I would go into wd's. I don't want to lecture I just don't EVER want to see anyone go down that path cause it can consume you before you even know what hit you. But if you are just taking it for pain on Fri and only 2 then I would say no you should be ok. But if its recreationally in any way YES be careful. I am not saying you are taking it recreationally I just know when I started taking em I told everyone it was for pain cause I didn't want to say I just liked taking em lol. Whatever you do just please be careful. Even people who are not abusing them and are taking them for legit reasons can still become addicted to them. They are a VERY powerful substance.
