Tramadole and suboxone

Has any one had experience with taking suboxone SHORT TERM, (4 days) for withdrawal symptoms from tramadol. I used suboxone to help with the withdrawal symptoms of oxicodone over a year ago. It helped alot. They got me through that ring of fire. But I was perscribed tramadol over a month ago for back pain from an injury @ work. I no longer have the pain, all healed up, but I can not make it through the day with out the tramadole. I have to work, have to take care of my kids and I cant shut myself in my room until the awfull withdrawal symptoms cease so I wanted to take suboxone short term to get me through the first few days but dont know if it will make things worse. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS? Kristen

Tapering is the best way.  Please be careful - DO NOT take Tramadol if you are taking any kind of antidepressant.  I was prescribed both and had a grand mal seizure - I'm young and healthy so it was very scary.  My fiance woke up to me having the seizure in bed.  I thank God I wasn't driving at the time.  After doing research I found you are not supposed to mix tramadol with any kind of antidepressant.  If you are trying to get off the tramadol you should be completely fine if you taper.

Taper is right tramadol has differnet withdrawal symptoms including siezures so be careful. Be honest with your doctor and ask him to give you a taper schedule and he may also be able to give you other meds to help besides suboxone.  Get OTC meds for any flu like symptoms and take vitamins and drink a lot of water.  You can do it without the subs you have only been using them for a short time.

DO NOT TAKE SUB FOR TRAM WD talk about jumping from the frying pan into the fire/Taper down the tramadol how many are you taking a day .You have only been on it a little over a month ? Tram was my doc so I know it ***** to come off of I had taken it for yearsfor cronic pain tapering really does make it far more barable .While I tapered I did all of my normal daily thing took care of my kids not to mention I had a job working with kids .exersise really really helps.even if it just walking. You can do it !!!!!!!
