Trying to quit norco

Lvj
I am trying to quot norco I had my last one fri. I can handle the sickness but what I can't handle is not being able to sleep. I want to go out and buy more norco just so I can sleep but I know I'll end up taking them more than that. I tried an over the counter sleeping pill that didn't help. I need sleep!!!

A "normal" sleep pattern is the last piece of the detox puzzle with opiate
withdrawal, at least for me and many others here on the forum.  Your sleep will return to what it was before you started taking opiates. For myself, not sleeping will help down the road to burn this experience in my memory so I won't forget the misery. What helped me was hot baths, Kava Tea or Yogi
Sleepy time tea, and having some kind of sound (like the ocean surf) going in your bedroom to help distract your mind. The RLS was a big part of my not sleeping. bananas or a pottasium supplement, AND magnesium/calcium/zinc (walmart, 3 in 1) will help.

I went to my dr and told her everything. J was quitting a 10 to 12 day norco addiction. And she gave me tramadol for sleep it wa the best thing. I only took it for 2 weeks and then it took a few nights to actually be able to sleep on my own but it wasn't as bad as when I was detoxing.

i was in the same position as you. I went to a detox center successfully detoxed off percocets however when i returned from the 5 day detox i couldn't sleep at all! tossing and turning all night, night after night. Which ultimately caused me to pick up more pills saying ill only use it for sleep. Then i relapsed using just as much as before. Stay away from the norcos. Do not pick up anymore because you will relapse. Try hot baths, dont drink caffiene, dont eat late, excersize is great but only in the morning or afternoon, NOT AT NIGHT, tea is good, read in bed. I wouldn't recommend Benzos (Xanax, ativan) even though it will help you sleep you will be putting yourself in the dangerous position. Benzos are highly addictive and you will be vulnerabe to becoming addicted to them. I was also addicted to xanax so i know the feeling. Its not something you want to start messing with. If you can get your hands on some sleep aids (ambien, lunesta) even though they are strong you can only use them for sleep, and you must consciously acknowledge that you are only using them for a short period of time. Whatever you do, do not take another norco, that is not an option. Remember only time will heel. You have to give your brain time to rewire itself and adjust from your long term drug abuse. Best of luck! stay strong.

Benzo's help so much with opiate withdrawal, (xanax/klonopin/valium) along with clonidine you can get from a doctor if you've had enough. Do as much as you can do during the day and eat potassium rich foods (bananas) if you're getting restless legs. Workout and exercise is key during the daytime. Not only do you see results and look 100% back to health but you feel like it a lot sooner than if you were to just sit around all day.

The sleep deprivation gave me the most anxiety... I used benadryl.. and try to exercise a little to tire yourself out...

Oh Girl, We have all been there. The teas helped me the most and believe it or not motrin. Push comes to shove can you get a rx mild sleep aid? Lunesta, kinda thing? Ambien is in my opinion is to strong. I like the yogi calming tea and the traditional Medicinals.Warm soaks before bed, and prayer. Good luck to you. xo
