It would be different if I had been taking 2 a day then wanted 3. I tak 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 one day then try to do 1 1/4 the next and so on. I dont want to bounce back and forth. I would be better off to take a steady dose of 2 1/2 to 3 for a while then go down slowly. I have herd that I shouldnt have cravings or WD symtoms on SUBS but I do. So I just need that extra 4 to 6 mg a day for about 6 months then Id like to go down 2 mg every 3 months until im done.
Again, you won't know until you ask. Still, I am concerned that you need to "up" your dose after two months. I rarely, if ever, heard of anyone doing that. Quite the opposite in fact so it concerns me that, again after two months, you would need to go up to 24 mgs. At this rate it is going to take some time and a lot of work on your part to come off of them. Just concerned for you and hope you are doing the right thing. I wish you the best.
Thanks. I know your right. Why would he say no? His job is to help me get clean and im not asking for alot. I worry that when I run out that I will relapse! Thats not an option for me. He made the comment to me that 97% of his patiens are on 16mg a day. I just dont wanna look like an idiot. But im sure he deals with way worse than me. I would do so so much better with 3 a day. I am an 11 year addict! HEROIN, PERKS, VIKES, OXYCONTIN, ROXIS, NORCO, METODONE. ANNYTHING.
Hi,
I'm on Sub and I've had to tell my doctor before that certain dosages weren't working for me and he didn't get mad at all. I feel that in the end it's MY recovery and I'm paying for it every month. I say go for it and see what he has to say. A lot of this recovery process is being open and honest and if you are on Sub, you should be able to have an open line of communication with your doctor without fear of him getting upset. Good luck!
i forgot to mention to you that he has several patients that he prescribes 3. I spoke to 1 of them yesterday at an NA meeting about whats going on and she tells me to adress this right away to the doc.
I started it January 3rd. I have needed more than 2 since then but worried to tell the doc. I should have told him at first instead of waiting 2 months. He could say (you made it 2 mo so keep it up). I have a good 2 and a half weeks then the last week and a half I feel like crap. I really want to call him and tell the truth. Would it hurt me, help me, or just stay the same? I know that you cant answer this but if you were him. What would you do?
This is a tough question to answer. I don't know how anyone here could possibly know what your doctor is thinking or how he/she will react.
In a perfect world, the doctor should see you, evaluate your situation and adjust your dose. But there is no way of telling whether or not that will happen. All you can do is speak with him and explain what is going on. How long have you been on Suboxone anyway?
