Update! Sunday will be my last pain pill!!

I am so happy to say this sunday will be my last pain pill ( hopefully for good )  As you may know from my other posts,  I have made really good progress since september 27,  I have went from taking 12-18 Roxicodone 30mgs and some Oxycontin 80's,  To just taking 1 Oxycodone 10/325  but i done a very fast taper,  And have been going threw hell! but I know it will be worth it in the end.

My doctor has been very understanding, and happy that I want to get off of them and actually do something with my actuall pain in my back and my head.  

This sunday I am going to get my Ativan prescription filled, and my doctor has also prescribed me flexril,  and 800mg ibprofen  to help with the wilthdraws I will still have.

As you may know im Just 18 and I have beed addicted since I was 13 years old.  When I graduated back in june 2009 I had 2 scholarships to go to college,  But instead I let the pain pills take over my life and did not go to college.  But I am determined to get my life back on track,  and finished what I have started!!

I am very thankful that I have all my friends and family supporting me,  But I think this website has helped me more that anything,  Because you have all been threw this,  and I feel like im not alone with this on going battle.

I am also going to therapy to real soon,  so I hope that will prevent me from relapse

THANKS EVERONE! that has supported me,  And I am not going any were when I am done with the withdraws.  This website has become a part of my life now,  and has helped me a lot.

Thanks everyone!  Tomorrow is my last day for a pain pill,  I am excited but I am also dreading it,  But I know Its the right decision,  Because I need to get my life streight.  My Doctor has been so helpful and understanding,  I was so nervous to tell him the whole truth,  I thought he might put me streight into rehab for 30 days and not listen to what I would have to say or suggest.  But he listened to every word I had to say.  Which he was the one who prescribed me all of my pain meds,  but he did not prescribe me 12-18 Roxicodone's a day either lol,  But he was very understanding.  

I think the reason why My Doctor was very understanding is because he shared a story with me about his wife and how she was addicted to pain pills for years and years,  and he did not even know She was taking all of the pain pills she was taking. When she started to get off of them,  My doctor said,  He had never seen how bad an addiction to pain meds was,  and this was his wife,  My doctor prescribed her the samething he wants me to start taking monday,  He said it helped her out a lot,  and she has now been clean over 5 years now.  And that gave me even more courage to go threw with this, because I knew my doctor knew first hand how withdraws look like and how it effects you.  So I trust him with all of this.

You have done great on your taper Congrats !! Glad to read you are going to counseling.. this is what I did and it has been a life saver.. Also being Honest with your Dr.. this is the only course I could see me taking to obtain sobriety.. Look at this as there is no turning back and you will reclaim your life.. also congrats on the scholarships you sound intelligent and I'm so Pleased you will not be letting it go to waste.. as Hollie said reach for the stars and glad you will be sticking around :) lesa
