Still staying strong on my taper. I've gone from 75 mcg. Fentanyl to 50 to 37. My doctor wants me to stay at the 37 mcg. for the next few weeks because I'm still having withdrawals from it, mostly mild and manageable but I think that's only because I'm still taking the oxycodone for breakthrough pain. When we had our meeting last week and I REALLY got through to her that I want off all these medications to see where my pain really is, we decided to taper one med at a time and to start with the Fentanyl.
I'm thinking of cutting down to the 25 to see if the withdrawals stay the same or get worse. I've got a LOT of personal problems going on at the moment, and I need to be able to take care of my kids and deal with these issues. The last week has been tough. It's a roller coaster. One minute the withdrawals are pretty bad and the next they're bearable.
I know I have a long road with this by doing a taper but I can't do it cold turkey. (For those who don't know, I'm a pain management patient that wants off my medication and am not addicted but am dependent and not liking it.)
Thanks for all the encouragement over the past couple of weeks. I haven't had much time on the computer lately but wanted to check in.
