Vicodin 5mg discontinued at 36 weeks

Hi- just a general question. My doctor says not to worry but I must confess that I still am a bit worried and will continue to be until this baby is born. My worry is that my child may suffer from w/d of some type, due to me taking hyrdocodone/ vicodin (5mg) for about four months out of my pregnancy. This medication was PRESCRIBED to me, and my OB is well aware and not concerned. I d/c taking the Vicodin 3 weeks ago and have about a week before my c-section. I was taking only 5mg per day maybe 5 days out of the week, so for me there was never a w/d or weening issue. Just wondering if anyone has given birth to a baby that suffered from w/d from taking a similar dose to mine? or does anyone have any feed back? And I stress, I ONLY took one pill per day at 5mg and d/c at 36 weeks. Thanks much for any feedback or stories to share....

Hi, When I was pregnant my dr put me on loratab for sever headaches.  I didn't take alot or get w/d's then and that was 10 years ago.  My son was fine.  But be carefull of using them in the future.  Please don't let them get a hold of you.

I haven't been through this but with the info you provided i think the baby is and will be just fine. This was a very low dose and now you are on nothing, correct? The stress is not good for the baby or you. Try taking a deep breath and calm down, you have done well and soon will have your baby in your arms!
