Everyone, please read.

I want to first and foremost apologize for my actions yesterday and to all of the new people I may have offended by saying they were "Newbies". That was very, very wrong of me. I love when we get new members, and I try to be the first to welcome them and reassure them they have come to a good place.

I have been here long enough to know what the general idea of this forum is and how it should run. Its a place for support, understanding and advice. I truly am sorry if I offended anyone and even more sorry I took part in that conversation yesterday. In my entire time here at medhelp I have never argued with anyone on here. I don't look down on anyone or anything as I am no where near perfect. I don't give advice on anything i know nothing about or haven't done myself.

My comments on anyone being new were merely that they do not fully read the threads before they post, and that was it. I was in NO WAY stating that they do not understand addiciton or do not have life experiences of their own. We all have owr own opinions, and all of us, new and old have VERY GOOD advice based on our own experiences. It was uncalled for and I am sorry. We are all going to agree to disagree at some point. We can't all have the same opinion on everything. Yesterday, I let my anger take over and I am deeply sorry for it. But I do still stand my ground. I don't take back my actual point, be it wrong or right, its my opinion.

Once again, my purpose here at medhelp is to continue on in my own recovery and to try and help anyone who is in need of it. I don't force my knowledge on the subject to anyone and I don't give advice or try to help anyone who doesn't ask.

With that said, I am sorry for my actions yesterday, I was very misunderstood and lashed upon when my posts were not being fully read.

So again, there are no new and old, there are only people who are all in need of the same thing and want the same thing, that's a life without active addiction. I pray that we all find it and those who have it, hold onto it.

Have a great day.

Lisa

It doesn' t matter if you're a "newbie" or an "oldtimer" or somewhere in between.

Recovery is "one day at a time" and the 1st one up in the morning has the most sobriety for that day!!!!  lol

IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT...so....KEEP WORKING IT, PEEPS!!!

Liscamdave:
I just wanted to tell you that it takes a big person with a big heart to admit to making a mistake or making an apology.  My respect for you has just grown more.  Thank you for your example!

im feeling a lot better today. it had been 16 days since i have used, and im feeling good. how are you doing? i love it here so much, i have met so many great friends here(that incluses you) and have gotten so much help here. im just glad that we are now getting past what happen and are friend again. when it comes down to it the little support just telling someone you are proud of them goes a long way and makes a big diffrence. and you know that your one story moved me so much and really helped me relize why my love ones acted the way they did. but as i see it yesterday is the past its time to focus on staying clean today.

XOXOXOXO

I very much appreciate that. Thanks so much. I am sorry too and apologize for making you think I wasn't supportive in you wanting to be clean. I truly didn't mean it like that. You know, after all of our PM"s, that I support you and am proud of you 100%, that is why I was so shocked that you thought I was saying something to the opposite effect. And regardless of what I think, it doesn't matter...only what you think matters. But I was wrong for getting so angry, your right..when you try and voice your opinion through a comp screen, things get really lost in translation...

Absolutely NO hard feelings. I am glad we can get past this, I was upset to lose you as a friend. Like I said earlier, some and most of the newer people are closer to me then friends I have had all my life. So I truly do apologize, I didn't mean it like that. There are NO members here more welcomed or more knowledged then the other. We are all equal. And i have never used that term before ever. Anyway...Im sorry.

I hope you are ok and feeling better today.

Hugs....Lisa

Someone said it...there are those of us who do "wear our hearts on our sleeve."  We simply would rather give all day then to see someone hurt.  Trust me, in the end, the world needs more people like us, then not.

Stayed tuned my friend!  :))

i just wanna say im very sorry about everything yesterday, there where a lot of misunderstandings. im very very sorry for my part in it. im very sorry i made you feel like i was attacking you. that wasnt my true intention. and i know it was  not your intention either. i just think it was one of those days. plus, when you typing something you wanna say it can easaly misunderstood from its true intentions cause your not face to face with the person, i dont know if you  know what im tryng to say. but liscamdave I JUST WANNA SAY IM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SORRY. PLEASE FORGIVE ME AND I HOPE WE CAN GO BACK TO SUPPORTING EACH OTHER.

So let me ask this, is this ok?? Is this right to come onto this thread that I apologized to everyone on it and make fun of me???? All because I said Newbie??? Omg.....this is ridicules. I was angry. I have never, never used that term before to ANYONE here and you all know it. ANd I meant it because they were NOT reading posts. This is crazy that not only will everyone not let it go, you are now coming to my thread that I apologized to everyone and making me look like an idiot. Well, thank you. I am glad its ok for you to do that and no one will say anything to you.

Essentially what happened yesterday wasn't about the "newbie" terminology.  I think it was alot of misunderstandings combined with emotions that run deep on a very sensitive topic.  No one asked anybody to defend their personality or explain what kind of person they are.  I think we are all good people - people with emotions & opinions.  Eventually the two are bound to clash!!  More or less what caused the problem (other than the above mentioned) was expressing our opinions in the manner they were expressed in.  Hopefully we will all learn from this situation whatever lesson we need to take and move on.  We all play a role on this site: whether we've been clean for 5 minutes, 5 years or we're trying to get clean, whether we've been on the website 5 weeks or 1 day - we all play a role here.

~ wishing everyone a better day today!!

I am sorry but i have to comment.

ok--number one...............the term newbie----totally not offensive.  im a newbie.  i would have probably killed my boyfriend by now if not for u explaining to me why he acts the wya he does in wd, why he spends so much money, how it isnt me that he is mad at, etc etc etc etc etc.  gosh, i needed a direct line for someone to help me.  ok, i wouldnt have killed him...i better explain that before the police somehow show up at my house.  but yall understand what i mean.  i am new to addictions. well, not addictions but understanding them rather.....Mostly---I AM NEW TO THIS FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's kinda like a job...when u are new at a job, u come to work....kinda keep low and observe, see who is who and their personalities...all the while u are maintaining ur job....THEN after some time u start to come outta the shell and interact and  feel more comfortable at speaking up and saying things.  I, especially, am very outgoing.....and i act that way.  I think it is smart.

Secondly---I can't believe the support and hands u extend to people every single day on here.......it is amazing.  im not just saying that.  if i didnt think it, id not post.

People on here need u as i said in the note.  they do tho.  it comes thru.

I am not syaing that avis, naughty, soon2b, enemy, etc are not helpful...as they most deff are.......even if i dont really talk to them i read everything.  but, this isnt about them right now having to defend themselves and their words.

i just think sometimes people wear their hearts on their sleeves...a little...which, i do too at times...stress and things of that nature will prompt that.

i just dont think  u should have to explain urself with how kind and positive of a person u are.  u,along with others on here, are medhelp.................................

i love being a newbieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I understood what you were trying to say and I agree with what you were saying and I think people were taking it the wrong way. I also have to say something else and I hope not to offend anyone lol but as far as the whole newbie thing goes I dont think there is anything wrong with that term.

I knew exactly what you meant by your post, and it was not to hurt anyone..you don't have it in you to do that sort of thing....you know how much everyone loves you here, so just let it go, and stick to your recovery and helping others....

You are one of the most helpfull here, so don't you dare let this get you down!!!

Lisa,

You have no reason to peddle de bike backwards......You are a kind, warm, friendly, caring .......Pitbull.......lol.  You did nothing wrong, nor, do you need to apologize.  Topic's  get hot out here all the time--anyone ever watch FOX news??....lol.  I thought I was watching a Democratic/Republican debate.  Sometimes peeps get all hot under there collars or waistbands--they don't read a post completely (guilty) and, the chit hits the fan.

I know you were not out to offend anyone.  We old timers sometimes can't help ourselves.....lol.  I personally don't like the term "newbie" but, we 'oldtimers" can't help it......:-))

Lisa, you are great person and an inspiration to anyone who knows you and your struggle.  I am glad when you speak your mind, because it's not often you let your passion speak.......It makes me sad to see this "public apology"......I think you need to come to the "Negativity101"  forum.......lmao!!.......i best stop now.......ahhha

LuvyaLisa,
Nauty...............

Lisa you're the best and an inspiration to so many of us.  Anyone who read your comment should have seen your intent was not to offend anyone...simply to educate. I know YOU did not offend me and, hey, look at the name :)

Please keep doing everything the exact same way you have for all of these years.

I am thankful for your kindness, support and knowledge.

Love,
Amy
