Vitamins and Sam-e

I'm sure alot of people can answer this. Its been over a month now off subs and a week or so ago I tried L-tyrosine and a vitamin b suppliment to help with the only thing I was SLIGHTLY lacking.........energy. Other than that back to normal and I want to thank each and everybody on this site. You guys are really the best. My fiance considers you guys a part of our family!!!! The Vitamins made me very jittery and anxious and I even stopped the L-tyrosine and just took One vitamin b suppliment and the same result. So I stopped the vitamins for now and no jitters or anxiety. I still have Sam-e at my home which is supposed to be a mood booster. What exactly IS this stuff? And what is L-THEANINE, I heard it works wonders. I DO have energy and motivation, But its not where I want it to be. Or should I just chill out and not take anything??? Is it even worth it to do it?

i'm a big believer in natural remedies, the vitiamins are good for you, and if you take too many, you just **** out what your body doesn't absorb. lexapro is a good antidepressant, not too bad to come off of, works well with most people. I dont know what sort of ups and downs your going thru, i imagine that the holiday season may play into alot of our feelings right now. if the naturals aren't hacking it i would try the lexapro, what dose do you have? almost all patients started out of 10 mg. a day.  If you take the lexapro, try to take it at night, that way if it makes you drag or feel loopy, you'll sleep thru the worst. That being said, lexapro can also have withdrawl sx also, so if you're doing "ok" w/o the rx, plz try to keep it up. If you are taking lexapro daily, plz talk w/ your doctor before stopping, it's not a cold turkey drug. sorry this rambles, hope it helps.

I have a question?  If I'm taking lexapro do you think I should still be taking sam-e ltyrosine, vit b.  I just don't want to overload or mix stuff that shouldn't be mixed.  Suggestions on energy?

okay, SAM-e is naturally occuring in the body, in small amounts, it's been Rxed for syndromes ranging from depression to ADHD. It's most common use is to treat mild forms of osteoarthritis.
L-theanine is commonly found in green tea, it promotes relaxation, reduces caffiene jitters, relieves stress, and sharpens alertness.
L-tyrosine is an amino acid, it holds effect over our neurotransmitters, many of which we damaged during our using. Some studies suggest this can be used to treat depression also.
hope this was helpful, and not too drawn out.
do you have a doctor helping you out with this detox? if not a pharmacist can be loads of help, i've had many patients ask questions about supplements and vitiamins that i had to call a pharmacist to get the right answer. (believe it or not, alot of doctors do the same thing, doctors really aren't THAT smart)
