I move my electrodes around, starting with where the worst pain is and then move to the next spot., it works wonders for me. you can also put it on the meaty part of your hand between the first finger and thumb, that is suppose to be for all over pain. I even put them on my neck for headaches...
so glad u didnt cave! caving always sux after it is said and done..instead of being proud and happy right now..u would feel yucky and like a big fat loser...u r a winner tho..happy 4 u!
Thanks again for all the support on this tread! I feel much better today and the pain levels are subsiding. I have NOT caved! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I can never describe or let you all know in proper words how much the support here means to me! I feel so free because of your help and Gizzy's threats - LOL!!!!

i think the mix for fibro pain is 5htp, magnesium and st johns wort..not sure tho....read it somewhere...i can not tolerate lyrica either..but i can tolerate nuerontin..it helps alot
Thank you so much!!! I love you!!!! I think when we have surgery and especially with all you went through that there are times we will need something for pain and you've done AWESOME! You are an inspiration to me. Thanks for everything!
Love,
Janet
good for you..i am so proud of you for not giving in. i have been there with my TMJ...it is a pain to be in pain and no better than to take the meds...i hope you get some relief very soon. i had to take the meds after my surgery and for the last 3 days i have not taken any...i am so happy about that...you can do this....
Thank you for sharing your experience and your support! I am religious and I have been blessed so much in my life - and I do turn to God. Your words have meant a lot to me today! Thanks again! Hugs, Janet
CONGRATS on making it thru yesterday. ONE DAY AT A TIME...ONE MINUTE AT A TIME. You made it thru yesterday without anything so now you're concentrating on today. My relapse was because of pain also...was clean two years...had kidney stones couple times throughout those two years and managed to get thru w/out pills, but the last time I had stones, I said " Ok, I can't take it anymore...I'll just get ONE from my friend to relieve the pain, rather than calling dr and getting a whole bottle"...well.....that one turned into a freakin nightmare!! Just take it one minute at a time, and EVERY MINUTE that you stay clean is another notch on your belt. I don't know how bad your pain is, so I can't tell you to completely stay away from pills if you are tortured with pain...BUT...if you got thru yesterday, you CAN get thru today...I got thru all those bouts of kidney stones and COULD HAVE gotten thru the last time...but I had a weak moment. Not sure if you're religious...I myself am Christian but NEVER push religion/God/prayer on anyone...however, that has helped me tremendously, so just another suggesstion, but I'm in no way pushing religion on ya! Good luck, and again.....CONGRATS on getting thru yesterday and so far today!!!
I was wondering about the TENS unit working for pain all over. How do you decide where to place the electrodes? My sister-in-law was going to massage me the other night, but I hurt so bad she couldn't even touch me! I hate it when it gets that bad!
Thanks!!!! :)
By the way, Welcome to the community! :)
What typically works for me is my antidepressant, Wellbutrin and extra Magnesium. I used to use St. John's Wort and Magnesium and it worked great. But, then when I went through the addiction and severe depression came, I was put on Wellbutrin and shouldn't take St. John's Wort with the Wellbutrin. When I was sick recently I was taking so many pills that I got out of the habit of taking my Magnesium every night. But, the past 3 nights I have been taking it regularly again. I'm hoping it kicks in soon! Another lady I work with has fibro too and she said she's in a flare up right now too - maybe it's our weather too.
Again, thanks for your help and advice!
I am so sorry you are in such pain, but proud of you for not taking "just one" as we know where that might lead to...I also have chronic pain, and have tried Lyrica is does work wonders but I also am one of those people who can't take it because of the side effects...do you have a TENS ? they work great, if you don't have one discuss it with your doctor the next time...how about massage therapy?.... I have to sit in a tub of hot water when my pain gets where you are and sometimes it seems like I live there... take care my friend., hope you feel better soon, sending gentle (because of your pain level)hugs
I would encourage you to persevere with the Lyrica. I hated it at first. It took me about 6 months to fight off the side effects, and now I have none, even though I can't take it consistently. There's nothing else I know that works.
Good luck, lady!

Thanks! I took Lyrica for about 3 months and had horrible side effects. I agree it worked wonders for the pain, but it really messed me up otherwise. So, I can't take it! BUMMER!!!
I got hooked on Vikes for fibromyalgia treatment, too. BTDT, got the tee shirt, didn't fit, LOL.
When I can afford them, I take Lyrica for fibro. It's not a narcotic, but it works wonders for fibro after you get up to a maintenance dose. You just about have to have insurance, though, because the med is very expensive.
I would recommend any fibro sufferer to check this stuff out. It's wonderful!

LOL!!!! You just scared me - I won't cave now! LOL!!!! Thank you so much for all your support. You are amazing! I have so much respect for you!!!
Madisonjsmom: I love you sweetie! Thank you so much. I wish I could use Ibuprofen, Aspirin or other NSAIDS, but since I had gastric bypass surgery a few years ago and also have a large ulcer outside my pouch I cannot use those types of medication. It limits me, but I know I can do this with the help from my friends and my hubby! By the way, I enjoyed chatting with you Friday night! Love ya!
Love and Hugs,
Janet
You are one of the strongest people I know, good for you for not caving. You have come so far....don't give in now! I know that I have had some pain latley and I took some 800mg Motrin and it worked well. Let us know how it turns out.
It really isn't fair that so many of you have to suffer through pain because of fear of falling back. I cant imagine being told to do one line of coke and stop, not a chance and that is the reason i can't ever use again. It's different with pills and must always be a big fear cause eventually there will come a time you need them. You did great fighting though, and i guess it's a matter of reason? Is it easier to suffer through the pain, then to take a pill? I guess that is a tough choice that you always have to make. Hang in there Utah, if you go on a pill binge you will be feeling a lot more pain-FROM ME, LOL.
WOW! Thanks for the support! I came back and saw all these responses so fast and I really appreciate it!
Badsneekers: You are so right - thanks for sharing those words!
it always starts with just one pill...then it starts to escalate from there...i have also been sick 90% of the time for the past 3 months and it is hard working and all..mine has been more sinus oriented but i think chronic pain can cause us to get sick more easily...it wears on u so i do see ur thoughts..but we both know it is not the answer
That one loratab is pandora's box........
Great job saying no! Go on girl!
Your such a Trooper .... Keep up the fight .... Its not that the 1 lortab that woulda hurt ya its the moment of weakness and the let down that woulda gave your addiction that round.
You know better...there is no such thing for just one lortab for you...
