What Should I expect when stopping Sub

Hey Guys,
I have been taking 16mg subutex for a little over two weeks. What can I expect when I stop? I came off of a large daily dose of OPANA oxymorphone. I am going to be taking a motorcycline trip up to Colorado later this week and I don't want to get sick will on the trip.

U could taper down with what u have....sub has a long half life so maybe play it by ear and see what happens if u jump off...16 mg is alot but 2 weeks is not along time...if all u have is 20 mg's then u dont really have enuf to do a slow taper...perhaps just play it by ear and see how u feel if u dont take it...then take little pieces when u need to like britney said...this is when it is nice to have a doctor's advice on board...i see there are lots on here tho that dont have a doctor and have the sub....i guess people give it away and someone said they bought it off the street...

Sorry to hear about your coverage...the meds are so expensive. Now I understand why you want off them.
What I would do is split the remainder of the pills into quarters and take them as needed over the next several days...try to reduce the amount you take slowly. I dont think you will experience much as far as bad withdrawals, but I would ease yourself off the sub just to be safe.
The sub has worked great fro me so far...no cravings. I dont feel high at all...just normal. I have a sense of freedom because Im not obsessing over pills anymore.
Im not sure how long I will stay on it...I go to my Dr on the 6th and we will decide a taper schedule then.
Ill let you know how it goes and keep me up to date on your progress...Im here for you anytime!

Hey Brit, How are you doing?
About a month ago I screwed up and didn't get my cobra payment in on time and they terminated coverage.
After 2 1/2 wks of sub I didn't think I needed tapering. Even normal narcotics aren't that addicting. Today I haven't taken anything so we will see. I only have 2 1/2 Sub 8mg left.
Are you planning to stay on it for a while? Did it help you?

Hey red!
You really should be doing this with your Dr....tapering slowly is the key. Can you set up a taper plan with your Dr?

Now I am very confussed on what to expect. Guess I could wait and see for myself. If I took no more from this am when would I expect any withdrawal after being on it for a little over two weeks. Truely, staying sober is the softer easier way. I think I have 3 1/2 of the 8mg Subutex tabs left. What do you all suggest.

Are you out of the Sub? If so, it will be a rough trip!
Start tapering now so that in a few weeks you will be done with it. Look in the Health Pages, top of page near the right. There is info on sub there. If you can't get your answer, post another question on sub tapering.
