What is the best Methadone taper off of Heroin? The fewer days the better in my case

I will search the forum for a schedule but also would like to be able to ask a question as the days go on. I'm worried but really want to do this and would prefer to do it at home.  I have the support of my mom who will be available to help.  In past, I have detoxed in a treatment center.  This relapse began about 5-6 months ago - up to a bundle per day - approximately.  Thanks for your advice. I've done it before, I can do it again, but for some reason really dreading it:(

Hi, welcome. You want to take methadone as a taper for heroin? We don't give tapering advice, but that won't work anyway. Your last sentence: I did it before, I can do it again is the issue. You've been to treatment, didn't they tell you about aftercare? We always say, anyone can get clean, it's the work to STAY clean. If you get off the stuff this time, what will you do differently to keep from repeating this cycle? All those that work a program of recovery stay clean. Those who don't end up repeatedly relapsing until the bitter end.

I read some tapering info on this forum and was looking for support because I am stressed out/worried/scared.  Just wanted to talk to others. I was clean for 6 years. I gave the wrong person a place to crash one night and I made the mistake of going out with her and got the wrong number and here I am again.  Yes of course they tell you about aftercare and why would you think i'm not already planning to do the work to stay clean...my question wasn't about that, but have you ever heard of relapse? Things happen. Treatment is not a one size fits all either as so many people seem to believe. We are all different - what works for some might not work for others. But i'm not worried about AFTER I am off of it at the moment because first I have to get through those first few days. I am trying to get through the withdrawal period first. I don't understand when people try to scold you about making the mistake of using. I already KNOW I made a mistake. I have my Masters Degree..a good job...but it doesn't discriminate..I don't want it all to go down the drain. I'll try to find help somewhere else.
