I am tryiing to taper also.It has been really hard to say the least.I must admit I really suck at tapering.I go up instead of down :( I know I want to quit but I must not be ready if I keep the cheating up.I wish I had the time to cold turkey and get this over with before it gets too much out of hand.I can tell you one thing if I had 48 hours clean I would not answer that call because then you have to go back to day 1 again and you know you don't want that.Sounds to me like you are doing really good, keep it up.I can't wait to say I have 48 hours clean.

48 hours with no Vicodin? Good for you, you can do it! You are almost there. From what others are telling me it takes around 5-8 days before your body will rebound. I think your mind will try to keep plying games with you for a while though. Don't let it! As JoAnn said, hand up on it next time it calls you:-)

I to am trying to quit killers myself. I've been on them for nearly five years now that I can clearly think about it. I keep going back and forth about weaning myself down to zero. I have gone from 6 - 10mg pills a day to 4 yesterday i took 3 and so far today i have only taken 1. I think what I am going to do is try to not take any at all the rest of the day today. I'll see how I feel tomorrow, if i need any at all. I am determined to get off these drugs ASAP.

It does stop. I won't lie...it will take some time. The drug plays games with you head! If it calls you again...hang up! LOL

Put the relapse out of your mind and tell the pills who is boss. YOU...you will beat this!
