When Does Norman Sleep Come Back ?

Hey all Good Morning / Afternoon   I am sure most of you have seen me post on here about being on Tramadol for 2 years. And was wondering when normal sleep habits return after going CT.. I am basicly on day 14 CT and I still have to take  a triple dose of OTC sleeping meds (Unisom) just to be able to fall asleep. The recamended dose for Unisom is 25mg and i have to take 75mg to fall asleep and when i do get to sleep. I honestly belive i coould take a boat load of Unisom and still be awake enough to go to walmart and shop for hours.. Even after taking a triple dose i have to go to a dark room with a fan running and lay down and force myself to lay still and it will take me about an hour to finnaly go to sleep....and after i do fall asleep i wake up every few min from my body "jerking" like one quick jerk that shaked my whol body and then go back to sleep.. this jerking goes on all night and i wake up the next morning exhausted.. This happing to anyone else?
---Jeff

I am experiencing the same problems on day 5, so I guess it unfortunately is a normal part of w/d. I sleep a couple of hours at a time, if I am extremely lucky, and I also take the double amount of prescription sleeping aid, so it obviously can't be helped. I am longing for a good night's sleep, and I am so tired that I will go to bed in a little while, and in Copenhagen it is only 8:00 p.m., so it is early, but I am miserable and hoping for some sleep tonight.
Take care
Minnie

I've been off the vicodin for nearly 2 weeks now and it is the best thing I've done. I joined this forum right about the time I started the W/D's and it helped tremendously.
I had the sleep issues as well. My job, marketing/promtions keeps up all night anyway. So now without the drowsiness once induced by vicodin I have to find other ways to doze off. Exercising helps. Can you force yourself to just stay up through the point you don't feel deep sleep is anywhere within reach? I decided to give that a shot and thought I'd make it it 48 hours without sleep. Didn't happen.
You won't win that struggle often. You will fall asleep eventually.
It seems like all sleep meds have side effects the next day that you could look into to see if that would be even worse than restless sleep.
