When do you start sleeping again?!?

oh man....im just frigging tired!!  so im on 10 day  :D  wich is awesome, butttttttttttt the the restless legs and insomnia are killing me!!  When does it start fixing itself up, i mean i dont remember ever having rls this long..

The first 5 days i slept fine and got a full nights sleep, the last 4-5 night i went to sleep at 1 and woke up at 4 to 4:45, its like thats the the amount of time my body can hold itself asleep...and today i was so tired i took 2 3mg melatonins at 5 and i was trying to sleep till 7:30 and gave up, the stuff didnt even make me tires and the RLS makes me toss and turn all night and you cant get confortable...when does it start to end and go back to normal...

Anyone know what i could do for either...i mean i know all the tricks in the books and all the vitamins, foods to ear, aminos, minerals...but my body and i are in a fight and we arent talking..so he thinks he can treat me this way..he doesnt want the health foods and the beautiful water that keeps him alive!  no it just wants to torture itself till it breaks down..and im not!!

woooo...had to vent, i just want to sleep 7 hours...is that so much to ask???

Everyone is different, but that being said probably in the next 2-3 days. I know  that what you are about to read sounds incomprehensible but if you can will yourself to exercise you will exaust yourself physically to go along with your mental exaustion you have already been working on the last 10 days .  That coupled with forcing  yourself  to eat your fruits and vegetables . Should have you feeling at least halfway human in a couple days. Depending on what your tolerance is and long you used.

I am exactly where you are. I'm on day 10 and i'm not sleeping at all. Maybe an hour or two a night. I've had RLS for 20 years but it's never been as bad as it is right now. And it seems even when my legs and arms are not ticking and jumping then I have leg cramps. Or i just can't sleep. The first 4 day of w/d were really bad...I was really sick. But to be honest this not sleeping is even worse. I pray that this part of all this will be over soon.

I guess it does help to know that I'm not alone. And as I watch the clock and the hours pass others out there are doing the same thing.

Fault schmalt!  we all did it to ourselves...and deserve the misery...I should have recored on video the last couple of days for myself so I can refer to it when i feel like using again!  I went through this before and just FORGOT how miserable it was...Yes...I feel stupid!  Learn and live though...

im doing so so...im on day 10 and still cant sleep and my restless legs are driving me crazy, but other than that...alive!  i know my withdrawals will last longer than alot of people because the amount i was taking and the length of time...but thats my fault, i just couldnt leave it..i was ready then, but i am now..

thanks agiain...I'll be on your case...am taking daily multis and 1000 C twice a day, lots of water too...
am feeling better, don't have that one ton weight today, so far!  just tired.  plus actually feel hungry, i think thats a good sign...

yes those juices are very good anti-oxidents...but to take it a step higher get a complete full spectrum anti-oxidants vitamins..that will help you alot.  also make sure you have a daily multi vitamin and multi minerals in the morning with breakfast..and eat healthy and drink plenty water..our bodies need to get the building blocks more than ever!!  if you have any questions, feel free to ask me...

I know, I know...I love to exercise and I make excuses...today, because of your words...I will be at the gym, when I get back...I am going to write you and curse you!  LOL!

Sweet!  Sweat!  Sweet!....I'm sleepy...but I can't sleep either...But I do know it will pass...

I'm also drinking lots of cranberry and pomogranit (sp?) juice...supposed to be good anti-oxidents, right?

badsneakers, i dont use the sauna and steam room because i actually have a full complete gym in my house where i train people...i should probably think into getting one lol...but they will help you, sweating is good, your body is trying to remove toxins from the body any way it can..and heat really helps, i have a jacuzzi but i emptied it and closed it recently(didnt know i was gonna be quitting and withdrawing).. Im telling you though please try and get yourself to excercise, our bodies have a natural high when you do excercise and that helps with all your symptoms of wd as well...just a thought :)

I am new around here and was not doing the things you were, but have been addicted to hyro...do you steam and sauna at the gym?  I've been doing that a lot, can't/won't exercise yet...but GOD the intense heat feels so good and I figure it helps speed up the process by the deep sweat that I get...at the very least it is good mentally.

I was told that Hylands Restless Legs really works.  BUT..don't use it as prescribed. When you get the RLS..put a couple under the tounge, then keep going UNTIL your symptoms improve...you may need several doses.  Once it subsides it gradually lessens.  The gal that told me about it had is bad too..basically her entire body was all over the bed.  She did it this way and now claims it has not come back at all.

Just a thought. You can't overdose on those as they are supplements. I would be interested to see if that actually works for you as I have not gone the withdrawal route yet from Trams...bought those to keep on the side. You do have to keep taking them as the recommended doseage is not for addicts..you have to take more since your body is reacting more based on withdrawal but (to her) it will work wonders. And she tried everything else.

Melatonin NEVER worked for me either.  Whatever you do, don't use Tramadol...it takes away the RLS but that is what my issue is now..horrible withdrawals from that stuff.  Just awful.

THat is what the forum is here for, vent away. Well, that is good that you know about all the supplements..you will need them. Melatonin didn't work for me. I think the higher the amounts you are on, certain things won't work. Nothing could make me sleep, I mean NOTHING. It was horrible. But it all subsides after enough time has passed. You are doing a good job. Please stick with the forum, it can prove to be a life saver, literally....

Hey Lisa, well im been using drugs unfortunatel for a long time...since i was 17 :\....just started with weed and went to extasy/coke/even worse things that i dont like to talk about....i found prescription pills during the days of the "hard" drugs and thought it was my savior because it was just a prescription pill and i wasnt doing hard drugs anymore..thought it was all perfect..

I was addicted to xanax for 2 1/2 years and stopped one day and seizured, but i made it only to find out me and my gf broke up because of it...i was bodybuilding and turned to steriods and then the oxycontins...but i didnt sniff or eat them..if you know what i mean :( im really ashamed of that time period, i dont tell anyone and noone knows except my gf that i did it that way...well i hit rock bottom almost died...and i dragged myself to a rehab for help...

i got out and was clean for almost 3 months, started getting my mind back and i met a girl, who was addicted to vic's and thats where this all started from...so now i was using about 6 years straight, but i went from vics to percs to roxicets30mg and taking around 400mgs a day, but towards the last week or to like around 270mgs or so....i actually stopped 8 months ago for 2 weeks and thought i could treat myself or so my brain told me i could...i know there never can be a "treat" again and im ready to live a sober life no matter what it takes...

so thats just to make it a shorrrt story...theres alot more heh.. but thats for another day

i am actually a trainer and studied nutrition and supplements so i got all the "goodies", melatonin doesnt do anything unfortunately, love the baths with the epsom salts though.  i excercise 5 times a week and do cardio 5 times a week at least 2 days off in between for my body to re-cover and i eat as healthy as a human can possibly eat and i only drink water...

i know the length of time and dose i was using was very high and its not gonna all be gone right away...i just need to vent at times.. helps alot.. i just gotta be strong, and i want to live sober...i had my time. now i want to live.

I have not met you yet, my name is Lisa. Been here at Medhelp for going on 2 years and will have one year clean tomorrow actually...Anyway.. brief me on your situation. Congrats on the 10 days, that is awesome so be proud. What were you on, how much? I can tell you from my own personal experience. The RLS was the worst symptom for me, it lasted up to 3 weeks past the day I stopped completely. I did a short term sub treatment this past time which I am almost one year clean from. But I also quit before and lasted about 3 months, that time I did Buprenorphine for 3 days then quit, which was stupid, I pretty much just delayed the inevitable. Anyway, my point, is the RLS was bad and kept me up at night. I have learned that exercise will help tremendously, even if you feel like you cant, try. Warm baths with Espom Salts, that will work wonders. Go get plenty of bananas )bananas have potassium, potassium stops RLS) and go buy Hylands Restless Leg at any GNC or drug store. It will work well. Heating pads will also work. THe heat will stop the RLS.

For insomnia, go buy Melatonin. Its also an OTC nautral sleep aid that body builders used to use. It will put your body in a deep, relaxed state which will induce sleep. For me, I was addicted to severely high amounts of Oxy Contin. When I say high, I mean anywhere from 12-20 80's a day. My drs said I should have been dead. I did actually lose my husband to an overdose. But anyway...I hope this has helped in some way. Again, if you need anything, I am here to help. perhaps talk to your doctor about sumpin for sleep...there are some safe meds out there..many not intended for sleep but have that side effect of drowsiness....flexeril, phenergan and even benadryl which is over the counter..valerian root works well for some...melatonin did not hit my "sleep spot" either...just made me feel lethargic in the am but no real good sleep... sleep is important to recovery expecially is you work...if you are tired and worn out then you get weaker..good luck
