I really appreciate the response and info-------I've been told I need a MRI to see what's really wrong with my back----------I do exercise as my business requires it----I have a small landscape business-------my only after care plan is to try get to the root of my back pain--------I have a feeling that the pain I have now is due to rebound from stopping the percs-------2 of my brothers know my situation and I told them I would let them know if I was thinking of using again-------I have a strong will and when I decide to do something I stick with it-----I went c/t 2 yrs ago and once I was clean for awhile I thought I could control my use but could not -------now that I know I am an addict I know I can never take opiates again----I would rather have some pain than live the way I did using--------Thanks for The support!

like salsinator stated...length of use..dose and DOC all come into play here..a 30 mg hydro user for 1 year is gonna heal faster than a 200 mg oxy user for 10 yrs..lots faster...and also we r all different..I have seen 30 mg hydro users go thru sheer misery and have seen a 150 mg oxy user do well...everyone has a different pain tolerence..some have a more positive attitude than others as well...some like u and I..r also left with a pain problem to deal with..

Genrally 90 days is the clean time people strive for and when they have healed the brain enuf to fight off continuos depression and fatigue..doent mean everyone feels perfect at 90 days...as it may take more time for some and less for othere..i was a 100 mg hydro user for 4 years..for me it was close to the 3 month mark,

many r over the physical wd at 3 weeks...many feel the mental wds pohysically tho so the 2 can run together..as a rule for narcotic abusers, physical wds are basically over when the runs stop...but the mental wd causing fatigue and depression stay for a while longer..for me i felt great after i quit..my physical was 3-4 days ..i felt good til a week or so later when the mental part hit me hard..I had a distinct separation btw the 2/physical and mental wds...some do not

u r at high risk for relapse if u do not make some type of aftercare plan...there is an article in the health pages on the thomas recipe..internet sites to obtain stuff to help detox..an article on dopamine so u will understand what ur brain is going thru right now/and lots of great info for addicts trying to recover

Exercise forces the brain  to release endorphins and saved my life//or save me from relapsing which in a way was saving my life..I hit the thomas recipe in the recommended doses..i made it but i was sinking..I felt like a boat without a motor in the midst of very rough seas

hold tight..read and learn..u can do this..congrats on 3 weeks!  hold onto that clean time..keep posting

Hi Shrimpman - Congratulations on your three weeks clean.  Your post starts with asking when the endorphins will kick in?  Typcally this can take anywhere from 30 - 90 days or more, depending on how severe and long your addiction was.  For me, I could tell that things in the brain started to work better at about 5 weeks.  I was ultrasensitive to everything at about 2 weeks and went though a period of extreme anxiety for about 3 weeks.  The anxiety stopped just as fast as it started and I was amazed at how quickly I started to feel better.  Unlike you, I do not suffer from pain, so I don't have that as an issue to deal with.  I am sorry that you are in pain and I wish that I could give you some advise in that area.  I did have neck/back pain - which started my addiction, but thankfully that went away.  I have two herrniated disks in my neck.  For me, I did physical therapy a couple times and finally did a treatment of pyroxicam and prednisone - the neck pain went away and has never come back - except for a few flare ups.  Have you seen a chiropractor or thought of seeing one - that could help?  Hang in there and most of all, keep posting.  Take Care,  S
