Well, I don't know about being any type of master, but I did have a successful taper off Ultram. I had plenty, as it was prescribed by my doctor. So I took my time---why suffer? I went from 18/day down to 8 over a four-month period. It was painless; all I had were a few down/slightly annoyed days that I might have had anyway. That was 4 years ago, and I also did a mini-taper over the last 2 1/2 months down to 4 Ultram prior to a big orthopedic surgery 12 days ago.
Tapering isn't for everyone. You have to be slow, methodical, and patient, and have enough discipline to do it. And you also need a ready source of the drug you are tapering so you can go nice and slow. For some, tapering drives them crazy and they'd rather ct and get it over with sooner, others don't have the strength to leave the bottle alone after they have had their daily dose, and they also prefer ct over even having the drug in the house. Each person must choose their own best way to stop their habit. Whatever method you choose, I wish you success!
Thanks !
I am currently into my 3rd week of tapering off Hydrcodone. I really just want to wash my hands with it all. I plan on jumping soon.. one of my friends on medhelp tells me not to be scared. But when I read post people are always stateing how bad they are feeling....
I am current at 22.5 mg a day! I want to cut back more today! I want some success stories! :)))))))))
Me. But i went from oxys to percocets where you can easily cut them up or smash them and take little amounts - a little less every few days. I do it for about 3-4y weeks and I am tired and don't do much but sit around but I don't feel torture. The only thing is at the very end which is now.. I did take klonopin to help me sleep - small doses of .2 mg. I took some valium but it did nothing for me. Just absolutely nothing (weird). But tapering is the only way to go and even tapering is not easy. For people going cold turkey and believe me if they are successful, my hat is off to them, but they are at risk because your heart can stgart beating so fast - blood presasure rises and there are risks of seizures to go off that fast. Taper, taper, taper. even if takes a year or more.
Well come on here... I know your out there! ;))))
