Will my dr be able to tell I took oxycodone

I'm 17 weeks pregnant, and I haven't been to my obgyn yet. The other day I took oxycodone for my teeth, because my teeth are really bad. I read that it was a class c drug but I'm afraid that he will find it in a drug test and that'll make me out to look like I'm an addict and I don't want anyone at all to think that.. I don't take it on a regular basis I've only takin it once and I'm not planning on taking it anymore. I know they test when the baby is born but I'm not worried about that because I've not done anything else. My fiancé mom is gonna be there with me and I don't want my dr to say something about it infront of her because I will never hear the end of it. So I'm just wondering if I took it a day ago and I go in on Tuesday will he find it? Because I'm not real sure if he drug test me which I'm not worried about any other time just this time. Can anyone help me out on this question please I've looked it up and this is the only place I've seen where people don't get judged for what they do. So thank you and please let me no something.

If you have no history of drug abuse they won't drug test you I'm pregnant now and have 4 years clean and my docs know my past and they haven't tested me

You could always bring the bottle in with you too and show the doctor.  That way he/she will see that you arent abusing them.  Let us know how your visit goes.  Is this your first baby?

If you've taken one pain pill because of legitimate pain then that's what they are made for. Just be honest with your obgyn. They don't typically drug test just because.
And FYI anything taken after 20 weeks stays in your placenta through end of pregnancy.

I was an addict for years finally clean all honesty even if you take one it's enough to show in ur urine unless it's been about a week my doctor told me the first and second tri whatever you've taken or anything when the baby is born in the first poo they will be able to tell whatever it is that you took but i wouldn't worry to much if you only took one just tell your doctor he/she will probably recommend not taking it again but i highly doubt anyone will look at you strange in anyway nor should anyone judge you and i think jus by how worried you r from taking one that ur not a bad person you care about ur baby i have had a few friends in the past that used till birth now that's something to maybe get looked at a lil funny i'm goin on n on im sorry i'm sure everything will be fine just be honest congratulations and good luck with everything

I agree completely with broken's post above.  It's always best to be honest.  Do you have a history of addiction?  Have you abused drugs or alcohol before?

It's not at all uncommon for a doctor to hear that a patient took something before their first appointment.  If the Oxycodone is a current script of yours for pain, all you have to do is ask him about it, explain that you took one, then thought perhaps you should check with him first.

I also agree that you can ask for some private time with the doctor, without your MIL.  Good luck to you!

Some doctors do test and others don't. If this is your first appointment then there is a chance that they will test. My advice would be to be completely honest with your doctor. It is better for you and your baby that your doctor always know the truth about everything. They are able to tell in tests how much is in your system so they can see that you aren't addicted. You can always ask for your fiance's mom to allow you a little private time with your doctor. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I think you will be ok.  I had 3 pregnancies and I don't remember them ever drug testing at any point.  If it makes you feel better tell the dr. And get it off your chest.

To answer your question if you only took 1 you will be fine (as far as urine test) It doesn't stay in your system for that long.
