Will they find methadone?

OK ... I am in treatment and for some reason my ua came back positive for benzos... Ihave no idea why because the only thing I have taken in the last week has been a methadone 1 10mg pill. I had never tried it b4 and someone told me it would not show up in a drug test....ugh.. then the positive benzo screening, I don't get it. Anyway... now my counseler said he will send it to the lab to see what kind of benzos I have been taking... does anyone think they will find the methadone?... WOw... last time i take someting for sure... thanks for all the help....

I have tested positive for benzos 3 weeks after ive taken them, they have a very long (Half-Life) Its possible to test positive 1 month after taking a 5mgs pill, also if your liver is compromised by hepatitis or cirrosis, then it doesant metabolize chemicals properly. As for the office test, its very inaccurate at times. The most affective is the precise test done in the laboritory.John

Sounds like a false positive test to me - the methadone should have shown up as opiate not benzo.  The additional testing should come up with methadone/opiates.  How long before the test did you take the methadone?  It may not show up but obviously something messed with the test.  Hopefully you've learned your lesson and will take your recovery seriously from now on.  I once tested positive for opiates when in treatment and swore I didn't take anything.  Then they did the testing and found it was codeine.  I'd asked a coworker for some aspirian and she gave me the canadian 222's which have codeine in them.  last time I got meds from anyone for anything.
