Withdrawal duration??

Ok, I've been taking hydrocodone for quite I few years now. It started out taking 5's as prescribed and went downhill from there. As of just over 24 hrs ago, I took my last vicodin  i'm fine chasing it. its not even helping my pain anymore. My normal day dosage ended up being up to 120Mg a day of norco. It wasn't phasing me, even at that massive dosage. My question is, how long will the actually physical symptoms of withdrawal last? I'm aware that the mental part takes as forever, I'll always be an addict. But this physical stuff is kicking my *** big time.

The bath unfortunately isn't an option, don't have one. Shower only. I just got out of the hottest shower I think I've taken in my entire life lol. Took everything I had to do the normal stuff, never mind the leg shaving. That'll have to wait a while lol. The pill source is living with me until Friday, so that option/temptation will soon be gone. I feel like i'm addition enough to say no, I really really want this to end. I'm do sick of having the panic of running out, or running low and doing the running around trying to get more. Its just not worth it. Not at all. I'm in tons of pain from my back issues, to the point of tears actually. But, I just don't know what to do anymore. If I can't get relief from being an addict, what's the point of being one...right? I have a drs appt on the 20th and i'm going to see if there's any alternative meds I can get that aren't narcotics. I've tried tramadol before and it didn't work. Hopefully at some point I can get an MRI to see what the problem is and solve the entire source of this addiction. I just hate what I've allowed to let happen to myself. It truly knocks me down a few pegs to realize and admit what a serious dangerous problem I have. But, i'm doing my best. And the offers i'm getting? I'm far from interested. I haven't felt like total **** for 2 while days for nothin lol.

The best component from the Thomas recipe is IMO the Immodium.  When all you can do is lay in bed, the last thing you want is to get up every 30 minutes to pee out of you rear.  The liquid kind is best.  The small bottles are cheap if you buy generic, but they hold about 5 doses.  Buy 3 or 4; if you are like me, you're gonna need it all.

I could actually decipher what you meant.  It was fun lol.
Imodium will help with bathroom issues if you are having them and it also helps with withdrawal symptoms.  Make sure you are drinking lots of fluids.  I loved Gatorade.  Get a B complex vitamin and magnesium.
Try eating light foods like bananas, toast, soups etc.
Hot baths with Epsom salts bring lots of relief.
Boosts, Ensure or Carnation Instant breakfasts are loaded with vitamins and minerals that we really need from abusing our body so badly.
These are a few things that can really help you get through.
Keep posting for support and we can figure out what you are trying to say.  No problem. lol.

For me it was 4-6 days 4 being my worst day and after that it got easier each day. The trick is to stay busy dont let the anxiety get to you I walked alot and watched many movies and also took alot of hot baths . You can do this just remember to keep your eye on the prize and keep posting read alot on here and get support and give it also it helps you and others also. One day at a time try not to worry how many days it will last just worry about right now and get thru each minute and then the days will pass. :) You are not alone in this many people on here are also starting out and also many people post with help that have gone thru it. Hang in there  I am pulling for you!

I'm doing this from my phone so the recipe isn't showering, but I'll look it up. I seriously feel like I've been hit by a train. I've literally slept the whole day through with the help of sleeping medication I've been prescribed. I've  had people offer to being me some, find some for me, all of the above today. I guess when you've never been an addict you don't realize what a temptation it is to say yea to those offers. My body is seriously craving at this point. I'm 36 hrs in. bleh. My primary issue is the very serious back problems I have. I'm really not sure what's worse right now, the wd i'm going through, or my back screaming at me because it hurts. I realize this could be sympathetic nerve pain from wd, but man, i'm really hurting. Idk what to do about that part of this whole thing. This pain is real for me, and very serious.

Everyone is different.  Some people are done with withdrawals within 5 day, then there are unlucky people like me where it lasted 10-14 days.  Check out the Thomas recipe it does help.  You are going to have bad withdrawals no matter what but this will help.  Please stay strong, you can do it.  Just take one day at a time, if you have to take one minute at a time.  Post on here any time you need to reach out, it will help a lot.  It is possible to get off pain meds and you do have many sober happy days ahead of you.
