Day one being off pills

Today is day one. I feel ok so far. I'm tired and can't sleep, but I heard that u have to control you mind in order to control your body. My mind plays tricks on me cuz I've taken pills for ten years. As I sit here I'm still thinking where I can get some pills. But I know I can't do it anymore. I have the will power to do this I know I do.

Congrats on Day 2 and on your decision to quit!!!
It was the best decision I ever made and in time you will feel the same....  just keep hanging on and when you feel like you can't do it any longer just go one more second...then one more minute....
Day 2 through 4 were the worst for me and I spent a LOT of time on here posting and reading posts!  So keep on posting and let us know how you are getting on!!
Listen to all the great advice you got above!!  You CAN do this!!!!
What an awesome New Year gift to yourself!!!!  ♡

Hi  well today is day 2  your in the jaws of it now...this is 1/3 phyical and 2/3 mental so be ready to fight it out on both fronts  the best thing you can bring to the table is a positive attitude  it makes the difference between being uncomfortable and suffering....suffering is a choice  for the next few days you just got to be ok without being ok for a wile  make this your mantra   keep forcing the fluids...eat light meals and a hot soak goes a long way in helping most of the symptoms  Keep posting for support where all here for you............Gnarly

3 1/2 years ago I quit doing about 230 mg of Oxy per day. Since it is day one you are going to get worse before you get better, but hang in there, day 7 should give you relief. you will have osme good days and bad days after that. be prepared for after the physical stuff leaves you have to deal with some mental stuff, but it is doable. if i can do it, anyone can. stay the course, there is light at the end of this tunnel.

and make sure you stay hydrated, drink ensure when you cant eat, take the vitamins, and baby yourself.

congrats for jumping! For me it truly was mostly mental. The fear of quitting was worth than the actual quitting. For me reading everyone's posts and knowing what to expect helped me. Took most of the fear away. You'll get good support and responses. The lack of energy was the hardest for me but I'm 60 days now and I feel SO much better than I have in years. The crazy thing is that I'm also happier and laugh more. I never thought I was unhappy before, but who knows. Keep going! It's worth it!
