Worried about Tramadol withdrawal

Hi, I have only been taking tramadol for about 2 weeks but have been taking about 400 mgs a day. I stopped taking it now and feel bad. Will I have very bad withdrawels from this. I do physically have a very dependent nature and have suffered both hydro and oxy withdrawels before. Can anyone give me any incite?

I commend those of you fighting the addiction to Tramadol. Looking through some of the comments and website content the general consensus is that it's hard to do it cold turkey and even harder to do it without some sort of professional Tramadol Addiction treatment.

Well day 2 of no tramadol and last night sucked so bad. I sweat so much that I had to put a towel on my pillow and bed. God I hope today is better.

you are right, Donen... i am not a tramadol addict but have read a lot of it here so it is just what i have learned here ..

Painful, i think you have on your mind when you detoxed from hydros and oxys but i am sure you were using them for a much longer time and time is important here so keep an open mind and trust that you will pull through it much better because of the short time you have been taking the trams... I don't even think that you will need a strong med to cope with the pain like the roboxin but you can only say this... you will see it but as you said, you are used to dealing with pain and this is something you will know if you need the muscle relaxer or not.

laurel's advice is spot on - and I don't even think she was a tramadol addict (is that right laurel?) so that's how smart she is!!!  Great advice.

I was a tramadol addict for over six years - quit cold turkey over a year ago from up to 25 pills a day (that's umm well a lot of mg's - they were 50 mg pills) and it was horrible.

Considering the length of time you've been on them - you should be good - might be a few more days of physical pain - but give it a little time.  You'll be back to normal before you know it.

And not sure on your question re: the muscle relaxers.  Guess just be careful as I'm sure you know it's super easy to trade addictions right about now.

Good luck to you!!  And welcome!!  :)

Hi, do you think maybe a muscle relaxer like robaxin might help? I have a script for them. Normally I dont take any pain meds because of my bodys way of becoming dependent so fast. I usually live in pain most of the time.

Hi, painfull :)..... this is what you don't need now to increase your anxiety: worrying.... There is a girl at the abuse substance forum in spanish that has just detoxed from tramadol with the same dose as you but has been taking it for 2 months and she is ok... has had some insomnia, anxiety and muscle ache but she is all right. You will be ok... Breath deeply, try to relax when you feel the anxiety coming, i know it is no fun but help yourself by thinking positive now..... take a hot bath with epsom salts if you feel your muscles aching... if you have problems with sleeping... maybe melatonin or/ and valerian root for the anxiety ( if you are not taking any other med, that is )... eat healthy and exercise as much as you can ( not only will keep you busy but you will boost your endorphines and help with your serotonin levels thus ) ... and keep posting if you are feeling anxious... About your addictive personality, have you ever tried any kind of aftercare ?
