My friend HappyDays2Come is right about the Magnesium but I'd caution you that w/ the radiation & the resultant runs you really have to be careful because one of the side effects of Magnesium can be the runs!! So, if you have them already, I'd check with your Dr. Please, especially w/ the radiation Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. It's so important!! (3 liters of plain water per day) Also, try not to drink anything dehydrating like energy drinks & caffeine. Hope you're well today Bill!
thanks for the advise,,ill try anything,,,symtems,,,chills and tingling are the worst,,,i have some of those,,ill start tomorrow,,ill let u know how things go
Thanks again
Bill
Hi Bill and welcome! The chills and sweats were one of the last symptoms to leave for me. Double up on your magnesium supplements and go pick up a calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement...these will help so much! Also, definitely get some epsom salt and add it to your baths (it's full of magnesium). See a trend with the magnesium :) ? It's great in helping with your lingering symptoms!
by the way I just turned 72,,that probably doesn't help matters
was on 30 to 40mg of hydrocodone daily for around 6 yrs, I don't have the diarrhea problem because of the iron pills I take daily.
Radiation was the reason this all started,,had most of my colon taken out then prostate cancer..then the radiation burned what little colon I have causing my pain..iron pills have helped me greatly,,no more pain,,
Great job on the month friend !! Are you taking any other medications that could be contributing to the problems ? You could still easily be having symptoms at this point so just give it time and maybe change up the diet a little . Great for you !!!! ;)))
:You might also want to add some salt to those baths -- epsom or regular table salt. (Helps draw toxins from the body & has a slightly sedative effect.) If you can convince your wife: a back rub &/or reflexology after said hot bath really helps w/ sleep, anxiety, etc. I also want to back my buddy VICourageous on the hot blanket thing. You're doing great, hang tough!
I agree with the Above..I just wanted to add that TIME is the Greatest Healer. With Time comes Patience. You are doing a great Job so just keep pushing forward..
About a Year ago when I had them chills, tingles, aches, I would go lay under a big Heating Blanket after my Bath..Lots & Lots of H2O for sure.
Congratulations on your time so far.
Bless
Imodium will be your best friend!! Time is a great healer❕❗ your doing wonderful!
Hi Bill ~
Great job on a month!! THat is amazing!!
Are you taking some vitamins & minerals to help with the symptoms? I am taking a daily multi vit with minerals - and I also take B6 - to help with absorbtion.
You can do this - so keep up the good work!!
The time it takes for the symptoms you describe to abate vary from person to person & generally have to do w/ the questions above as well as: age, physical health, quality of diet & exercise. Are you taking Imodium for the runs? It's really, really important to stay properly hydrated ( 2 to 3 liters of plain water per day.) Have you tried an amino acid supplement like whey isolate? A good multi-vitamin & mineral supplement, unprocessed diet & exercise (I know it's hard but it really helps). -- will all aid in speeding you on your way to healing.
If you could answer the questions if the first paragraph, it would help us get a better read on your situation. I CAN tell you that these symptoms will ease. Try to have patience with the process & yourself. It takes time. If it's really driving your wife crazy, why not have her come to the site so that she can read & see what you're going through There's also a 'Living w/ an Addict Forum'. You shouldn't have to worry about her stress in addition to what you're going through. So, it might be helpful for both of you.
Also, if you continue to have the runs with the Imodium, I'd suggest a binding diet that includes bananas, bread, cheese & applesauce. You might also want to check out 'The Thomas Recipe' in the lower left hand corner of this page for an excellent set of detox tips.
Keep up the wonderful work & Hang tough, my friend. We're here & we're pulling for you.
