Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen. It's the acetaminophen that's bad for your liver. If you're concerned about taking too much and are currently prescribed Vicoden (5mgs hydro, 500 APAP) ask your doctor about switching to Norco (10mgs hydro, 325mgs APAP)
