Oxycotin is destroyd my life and im only 20.

I have been taking oxycotin for 2 years now and im up to 4 80mg oc per day just to get me through the day. When i dont have oxy i go to suboxons and xananx. In the process im becoming dependnt on xanax also. It is it horrible cylce and i feel trapd n this drug. I am constantly around it so it makes tryn to stay clean that much harder. I guess what im asking for is some advice and support.

Any recommendation on a doctor in Richmond VA? Some start you on bunepheron but I need suboxone. Any advice would be so hekpful

im 19 and been doing 80's for about 2 yrs too. Its really hard to stop like you said being around it all the time. i am in college, and have been trying to stop but it never really lasts.  Today i decided I would stop again. I woke up with 2 txt messages from people asking if I needed anything at all, telling me what they had, etc. All I wanted was to just respond and go meet them. On top of it I knew my roommate in the room next door had it sitting on her desk. I thought, "really what makes this day any different then the day before, I could easily keep using and the world would go on the same" But you would know what you are doing still. Its something that you have to really want for yourself and be willing to make life changes. I have relapsed many times because i cant make the changes ppl tell me to. What are u willing to do to get clean? how bad do u want it? i am around to talk whenever, just message me if you'd like.

Hi Corey - Hav family from PA - Reading.  Nice to see you here, you have some great support.  

Holliee - glad that you are doing well with the methadone and that it is working for you.  Suboxone is a great medication for some and it did save my life, but getting off is much harder than my DOC.  Many people are finding that.  Glad that I finally detoxed, I am 130 days free and have not felt better.  

Trey, please continue to post.  Read some posts from others here who are in the same situation as you. You can get help and you can get clean, but as Corey said, just wanting it is not enough, you must be totally commited and be willing to work as well on your sobriety.

Hello That's not to far from me. Yes the xannax was pure he!! and I would not wish it on my worse enemy at all. That's saying a lot. Yea I was at about 300-400 mg of oc a day and then tried sub no luck made me feel bad real bad and couldn;t sleep plus I also have real pain and just couldn;t deal I did try though then found methadone been on that little over 2 yrs now and doing well feel good AND my life pretty normal right now...

Hi Holliee - I am from the Charlottesville area.  Detoex off suboxone in June after taking 200+mg of hydrocodone for several years.  Congrats on getting off the xanax, I have heard that can be pretty tough.

Your right...it is a vicious cycle and it will be very hard to break with any access to drugs around. My son has been clean from a 2 year heroin addiction almost 5 years but he did extensive rehab and moved over 70 miles away after attempts to stay clean here failed. Do you have any friends that don't use? Have you ever detoxed before? You need to set up a strong support system of people who will support you. How do you feel about NA. This is a great support bc everyone there has gone through what you are and they will help support you.
You are very young and I know that there is a lot of people your age using and addicted. You have so much ahead of you. The longer that you use the worse things will get. This is a PROGRESSIVE disease. The high will stop. You will lose your life chasing drugs for a high that no longer exists. Please get whatever help that you can. Just wanting to stop is not enough which I am sure you are finding out. Keep posting and read some of the articles under health pages to learn as much about addiction as you can. Hi Trey,

Welcome to the forum.  You are in the right place.  I see that you are located in Virginia - I am also in Virginia as well.  Have you every tried to stop using?  Do you have any support that you can rely on to help?  At your age, you still have a long life and opportunity if front of you.  I went through a detox in Richmond VA in June.  It was medically assisted and was much easier than going through cold turkey.  I would be happy to give you more information if you are interested in quitting oxy.  There are lots of people on this site who can help you and give great advice.  Some professional help would be the best option if you are willing to accept it.  Have you ever been though any kind of rehab or tried quitting before?
