I am on lexapro am i right that i cannot take the 5-htp?  If i cannot can someone tell me why

thanks!!!!!  i am only on 10mg coming off of 40 prozac.  What is the problem with too much seratonin?  or is that just the addict in me?  What was your experience with lexapro and why did you change?

I believe it has to do with you seratonin level.  lexapro is a selective seratonin reuptake inhibitor so it is already working on getting more seratonin to your brain.  the 5htp gets turned into seratonin so you may have too much.  i'm on wellbutrin which works on dopamine so i can take it, but i used to take lexapro.
