can a cough be a symptom of addiction

I take 15mgs of oxycodone 3 times a day for back pain.I have developed this barking cough that causes me to gag. Sometimes I don't take my medicine as prescribed. I take less. Maybe 1 pill a day. Days when I take nothing I get this terrible cough.  If I take a pill it pretty much stops. what is this all about.?

Hi I dont believe a cough would be a sign that you're addicted. What will happen though is if you have a illness that is causing a cough Oxycodone will suppress the cough so I would possibly see you're  dr to see what's causing you're cough.

hi,
how do u feel on days when u don't take it besides the cough? I know for me, when i finally stopped taking vicodin totally, i did have a cough & learned that the vicodin was actually a cough suppressant so it was a common w/d effect.  I don't know if it is the same with the oxy.  I am sure someone with experience with that will post soon:)
