clonodine????
My doctor finally called and is phoneing in a script for clonodine for me. Other than lowering my blood presure, what is this drug going to do for me? Guess I haven't been paying enough attention to my lesons here on the forum for the past few months. :(

are you going cold turkey or tapering? is that 10 pills a day and how long were you taking it? Look at the Thomas Recipe bottom right hand corner of this page under most viewed health pages.
hey ive been taking 100mg of hydrcodone/norco10-325 a day and my Dr. put me on clonnidine 0.1mg 1 tab. 3 times a day. will this really help w/d symtoms if so how well? also is there anythi8ng else i can try over the counter or other wise?
that's weird, guys, because the doc gave me a Clonidine PATCH and it only released 1mg of the medicine a day, such a low dose that it didn't need tapering off.. the pharmacist even stated that if you UP the dose over a period of time, then you would need to taper, but you only need it for the duration of the withdrawals, peaks at 3-4 days, then it's over with.. I used the patch (Catapres Patch--- brand name for Clonidine) for like 2-3 days right after I got off the Tramadol, and I felt like a million bucks! The patch is supposed to be left on for 1 week, but you won't need it for that long..
HOWEVER, check with your pharmacist on drug interactions, which drugs you should NOT mix it with, and she'll inform you well...
The Catapres patch releases such a low dose per day, that it slowly reduces the blood pressure to a very safe level.. because while you are withdrawing, your blood pressure will rise sky high!
I'm on day 14, off of Trams, and I'm still here! Doing great! :D
