cocaine / sinus infection ?

need some advice too please .... haven't snorted cocaine in about 8 yrs ... but did for the first time since about  7 weeks ago ... next day came down with the worst cold virus / sinus infection for over a decade. ... OK so I put this down to bad luck / timing.
anyway hung out with the same group of friends again on Sunday and just had a small line. Guess what ... I have a really bad sinus infection / cold again ...left side of my nose is tweaked ... swollen and running clear mucus from my left nostril. this is the side I snorted in. I FEEL AWFUL ! Like I have another terrible cold virus ...
what the heck is going on ?
am I allergic to cocaine ? no one else has the same issue ..
is my immune system shot ?
any thoughts would be appreciated ..

I have also  had the same problem before. It’s been a few years but I had been using a lot more. Pretty much most of the week. So I think it’s a combination of the cut and quantity for me. Mostly the cut however who I got it from gave me unbroken rocks and says it’s pure. I would like to get some more and test it. If anyone knows where to get a test kit? It started with the new guy I was using also so maybe it’s where he was getting it. Messed my nose up bad and my nerves in my front teeth. Stopped using because of it. Love the energy it gives me though.  Does gumming it work the same? Same energy? I’ve done it multiple times but just for a numby.

Just came across this as well, as I seem to have sinus infection like symptoms.. after doing cocaine all night, amazing quality so ill just rule that one out now. I always use my left nostril, and basically my whole left side of my head is f#kd. I noticed the harder I tried to blow that nasty snot outta my nose, the more pressure it put on my eye. Also worth mentioning that ive taken a lot of hits to the nose, cheek area, eyes over the years, even had my orbital bone(is that what its called?) broken in which I never got proper treatment for. Ive rolled up bills before of course, but lately ive been using clean straws, as was the case last night. On another note my body has been very weak lately as I just kicked methadone. So just a sh1tstorm of poor physical well-being, and poor choices really.. but beginning to come back around. I actually had blocked out the pain alright and forgot about it til I started noticing in the last few hrs that my vision is noticeably worsening in my left eye. I would hate to have to go to the ER but it concerned me enough to google it. Hope maybe some of that info helps, but also another question: when to seek medical attention??

So you’re saying you know you have good quality coke but it still have you an infection? Hmm maybe my guy did give me pure stuff then. Thanks. But also how do you know it’s good?  Could have ephedrine in it or something with lots of energy like that. Have you tested it. I would like to get a test and try to get some more and test the quality.

When you snort cocaine it irritates the lining of the nose. Chronic cocaine users are defiantly have a higher risk of sinus infections.

I stumbled upon this conversation after Googling "cocaine + sinus infection" because I shared a similar bad experience with Nick.  After doing a few lines the night before, I woke up the next morning with my head spinning from sinus congestion & my ears were ringing & my throat was sore.  I took a hot shower, & the steam must have made me clear out a large scab looking thing from my sinus & another from the back of my throat. After this, it was followed by a lot of mucosa that was lt. free w/ brown spots in it.  Also some tiny spots of blood. I went to the grocery store & picked up some zinc-based nasal spray, zinc based throat spray (I think it was Zicam, but there is also generic), & zinc supplements…

My roommate from college is actually my GP & she told me that zinc ABSOLUTELY DESTROYS the bacterial infection in your sinus & throat.  Apparently the zinc & a few other heavy metal elements (like zinc, bismuth, magnesium) & will bind to the bacteria's cell wall & smash it, thus destroying the bacteria.

After a few days of taking sink supplements & using the zinc nasal spray & throat spray, I started releasing more scab-like mucus with dark spots & green/yellow & very sticky/solid. VERY STICKY.  

I have also had GERD really bad for the last 10 years & lots of various stomach problems like chronic bloating.  I noticed when I started taking the zinc, that my stomach problems felt a lot better & my gas/bloating levels were significantly reduced. The next 2 days, I had 5 horribly large, EXTREMELY STICKY bowel movements that felt like I was cleaning a thick, sticky paste out of my intestines & noticed that I felt a LOT better.

I came to the realization that I must also have an infection in my intestines, since the zinc cleared out all of my gas/bloating. I Googled Zinc + sinus infection + sticky stool + mucus & it pointed me in the direction of HELICOBACTER PYLORI or, H. PYLORI.  After reading about it, I found out how prevalent & widespread H Pylori infections are throughout the world.  It seems this dirty little bug is the cause of incalculable amounts of human pain & suffering. Apparently, H Pylori bacteria use it's flagella to bind to any organ with a mucus membrane & embed itself in that particular tissue.  When I went in to get a colonoscopy & endoscopy, I had a lot of scar tissue in my intestines & upper digestive tract.  The test came back Negative for H Pylori, but my doctor knew that there are a of false negatives in H Pylori testing if the patient is taking any kind of stomach acid reducer or antibiotic.

He prescribed me what is called a Prevpac & told me to begin immediately.  It is 1 proton pump inhibitor + 2 antibiotics.  After taking this, my sinus, throat, esophagus, bronchioles, stomach, & intestines have been purging themselves of this crap. Mucus coming from my upper GI tract & sinus very thick, sticky & green/yellow - bowel movements very yellow, mucusy and sticky.  However, I feel like I have been liberated from something that has been keeping me down for a long time.My body feels so much better after discovering I had this systemic H Pylori infection.

I hate to say this & am not advocating heavy drug use, but using cocaine in moderation actually helped me discover that I had a terrible infection. My doc said that she thinks the cocaine initially destroyed the outer layer of H Pylori infection & that is why my nose & throat hurt. The cocaine actually started killing it & cleaning out the bacteria & it jump started my body's immune reaction because it was now receiving outside help to combat it.  She also said that this is what cocaine was originally intended for.  To help clear bronchial & sinus tissue from bacterial infection like pneumonia, etc.

I really hope people read my story.  The research I have read from the Gastroenterology Society states that 40-50% of the American population could have an H Pylori infestation, but a lot of these infections go untreated.  This is because our way of medicine focuses on treating the SYMPTOM (i.e. heartburn - give you antacid, sinus infection - give you decongestant, etc.) instead of treating the CAUSE.  I feel so much better now & I haven't even begun my second week of the triple therapy H Pylori treatment. I want people to understand that this crappy little bug is the cause of a lot of suffering.

Thanks for the info I also had those symptoms. When I started getting the sinus infections. Although I quit many moons ago I just started taking a zinc magnesium calcium supplement that has made me feel better for sure. Wonder if I should get checkled for the h pylori still. I have lots of stomach issues and chronic fatigue. I miss coke so much but it screwed my nose up for good I’m sure. Hopefully the zinc will work and I’ll get the nasal spray as well. Have lots of sinus problems just been dealing with them. Go get antibiotics maybe once a year when gets really bad. Thanks for the info.

Funny how our bodies know how to kick our butt when we need it.

You know the drill - get rid of those "friends" and remember this the next time you think of doing it again.

Is it really worth the suffering after?  NO WAY!!

hi guy. yeah could of picked of something from the same bill you and you friends sniffed with. but more likely is it was cut with **** and you just took a reaction. if your gonna try again sorce out some high quality stuff and bring yor owe sniffing utensils. also never be afraid to your doc a tell whe exactly happened.

hi all. i did coke for about 15 yrs. not as a heavy user. a few times in a year. i was having a party one night. did a few lines off someone that was fine, then i got one line from someone else didnt have that feel good factor after it. i went to sleep and woke up with a pain going from my sinus to my right ear. now its 5 yrs on i have headaches, cold pains, like theres fluid trapped under my face that wont release. yeah i thought most days i was going nuts. been to doctors had c.t  and mri scans and a sinus flush. still have it. doctors say it some sort of virus maybe from a rolled note. nelimed sinus rinse aint bad. the meaning behind this is try and stop taking the it. its not worth it.

I did cocaine on the 3rd of September 2011 and my nose has not been the same since then, nearly three weeks on.
Ive been to the doctors and they have given me sterimar solution, nasobec spray and naseptin nasel cream for my sinuses.
The doctor looked up my nose with her light and said that my nose was red and raw but luckily there was no permanant damage as long as i dont use again which im not going to do.
The pain from my sinuses are really bad and my left side is permantly blocked and the headaches are sometimes unberable.
I hope this will stop any1 thinking of useing it even on recreational grounds as that was what i was useing it for and the last lot has sent me over the edge.
Im hopeing my sinuses are going to repair alot quicker than 8 weeks but thats the time scale ive been given so please if you havent gone as far as me just STOP cos the after effects just bring me to tears most days.

I just wanted to thank you for putting this up. I'm having the same problem! I haven't done coke in almost 10 years and then I ended up doing a few lines on Thanksgiving and I got the worst sinus infection of my life. I thought it was because of the weather and it wasn't until I did a few lines a couple weeks later and ended up sick again that I made the connection. I figured it was because of the cut but I can't deal with this. It's not even worth taking the chance. I am so pissed at myself for being so stupid. :(

Im going through the same thing now, and always do when ever i take a bump, the only thing that helps is an antibiotic called avelox, you need a prescription, or you could try any kind of over the counter sinus medication like tylenol sinus, or something like that.

I have the same problem right now I have had a sinus infection from one bump on the 4th of July haven't done coke since proably Vegas few years back.  I'm using all natural methods now as I'm sick of resorting to Antibiotics, literally every time I touch the stuff this happens to me sometimes it lasts for weeks.  Funny thing is I've sniffed other stuff like K for crazy music festivals etc never cause a single problem.  My theory is the crap it's cut with no one ever know where it comes from they always get it from someone who got it from somone else i'm sure it's part Aspirin and Laundry Detergent by the time a consumer gets it.  My rule now is nothing goes up the nose as a week or two is not worth it I could probabaly feel the same way if I took a vicodin and some red bulls.  I say gum it and pass on the snorting

my god nick, why after 8 years of not using coke, why would you do it again, i did coke for 5 years heavily and when i blew my septum 6 months ago, every single time i used i has sinus and breathing difficulties the next day, im clean now 38 days, the longest since i started and i know without a doubt in my mind, if i was to do just one line, i would be back to where i left off instantly.  did you do damage to your nose when you used, septum, etc, how heavy did u use.   please please don't do it again, cocaine kills, and your nose never heals, never. if you are having these problems, its obvious an effect of the cocaine.  im not sure but it sounds like you have suffered some damage to your nose. the good news, when u don't use, you will not have these infections like after you use. take care.

Sounds like someone in your group has some kind of infection or worse and it is affecting you. It's better to think you allergic to it and stay away.  8 yrs is a long time of sucess to throw it away thinking you can do this again without getting hooked.
