cravings???

I've been off the lortabs about90days(yipee).After the1st month I felt like the cravings were super minimal.I was enjoying sobriety(I still am)but the last few days I have had some REALLY stressful things happen1after another. All the sudden bam the cravings r back.I know its par for the course but it came out of no where.I'm n aftercare and I know what would happen if I messed up and I'm TRYING  to outsmart this sneaky addiction. My question is does this POP up then calm down or what?In other words does it get better w/time?

HI congrats on your clean time and it does get ezer with time but I would be lying if I tried to tell you cravings go away......unfortunately they dont but this is where your aftercare come in
if they get bad call someone you should have several people you can call to help you threw....a lot of times just talking with some one is all you need.....do the best you can to distract yourself .....get lost in some music go out for coffee with a friend exersize a good hike always helps me here in Phx Az we have mountain parks right in the city there very challenging I will often head op there if im craving and go for the iron man hike up camelback mountain it not so much the craving but rather having a plan for what to do when you get it.......have several plans in place b/4 one hits so you have a  couple of choice based on circumstances of what you can do to help.....sometimes posting here is enough it just depends  you did good coming here let us know if we can help......Gnarly

Congrats on your clean time!!  When I have high anexity I  get  cravings and I just go one day at a time and get thru the day.  I know it sounds funny but it does work.  It is just something that we have to deal with in the early stage of our recovery.  From what I understand right now it is so important that we really protect our sobriety, guard it with our lives!  We are very vunerable at this point of our recovery.  Stay strong and God Bless You!

The cravings get easier with time but we always have to keep our guard up as they come out of the blue. That is why we preach aftercare like we do.  We learn the tools we need to stay clean.  You did good by coming here and talking about it.  Get yourself busy as that helps.

Time helps but honsely a strong recoverycare system helps the most so you have someone to help you threw the cravings .They will pop up the first 90 days are the worst . Things do calm down but recovery care is a great help.
