drug test

I have a drug test this week for a new employer and I don't know what to do, I have Vicodin and percocet in my system. I have presciptions for the vic but not the perc, do you think will test  both?

They will show up as the same thing - which essentially they are.  You'll just test positive for opiates.  I'm assuming that the employer will just do a standard 5 or 6 panel screen, which merely tests for the presence of various things.  If they send it off to a lab for quantity analysis it could show up as being too high, but most places just do the screen first and the analysis second, on a new sample, if the screen shows positive.  I would just take the bottle with me and show the tester - "btw, my Dr. has me on these."

that's what I was thinking they would be one in the same(meaning opiates) and my next question was how do I bring it up, I will do what you say and bring the bottle. The next thing after I get through this is working on the fact I am addicted and I have to get off the pills all together. Thanks for responding.

Thank you I think I will go with the bottle and letter from pharmacy up front to document the presciption, I wish I did not have to go through this and the sad part is I want to take pills today and I am resisting and withdrawling but that will make it worse
