extreme trouble sleeping after consumption of alcohol

So, my problem which i would really like to figure out, is this: after consuming any amount of alcohol, a glass or even sip of wine to a couple beers i go to bed and i cannot sleep.
i develope symptoms i can only discribe as feverish. i get cold sweats and no matter how many layers i put on (the other night i wore two pairs of pants two sweat shirts and i had about 7 or 8 layers of blankets on, including a heated blanket, i'm not exagerating) i still shiver uncontrollably. i dont throw up and i dont even get head aches. but i thrash around and my stomach bothers me.
then in the morning im just obviously very tired and the regular hang over... no fever or cold sweats or anything. i've never actually checked to see if i have a fever but i'm asking for your input in this. someone suggested im allergic to alcohol but all the symptoms i've researched are none of what i have. could someone help me please? prehaps you have experienced this and have a solution? thanks!

I tend to have racing thoughts and can't get back to sleep when I wake up the morning after drinking.  I do suffer from anxiety though, so I guess this is why it happens to me.

i'm really sorry i posted in the wrong forum, i'm not w/d from anything.

i'm not on anything other than Loestrin 24, which i wonder if it has anything to do with, but probably not.

Alcohol helps me fall asleep - but I never sleep well - and usually less time than if I didn't drink. 6 beers for me = soon as head hits pillow - I'm out -- however I'm awake 3-4 hours later - many times unable to go back to sleep.

Your probably appears different - have you ever checked your blood pressure after having a few drinks? You may want to do that, make sure your heart isn't going nuts while drinking. Another thing to consider is some people can be allergic to alcohol to varying degrees - though that's pretty rare I think.

Hubby of Desperate;

What day r u on, CT, taper, ?? Sounds very familiar day 1-6, i still get some stomach cramps, no sleep, i do drink wine every day, not for w/d but always have(The Greek and Italian in me, I guess) i never get drunk from wine, but i have over done it day 2 of w/d i had an aditional 3 Vodkas and the hang over + w/d was terrible, It took me like 7 hours to stabilize. I was depressed, just felt horrible, remember alcohol is a depressant. Have a couple of drinks, at a certain time at night shut it down w/ nice music and sleep tea w/ candles.?
Trust me it just takes time, i did take Lunesta for 2-3 days and that didn't even work, only made me forget things.

Stay Strong,

Choo-Choo

(Day 9 CT---30-40 norcos/day)
